My darling sister...

... is sitting at my home waiting for Michael's new bunk bed to arrive and SHE WAS THE ONE WHO BOUGHT IT FOR HIM!!

She asked me what to get for Michael this year, she always gets him his best gift, and I was at a loss. We recently moved and right before we moved I donated Michael's daybed and his old toddler bed to a family at our church who recently noved here from Africa and had no furniture. Michael also donated a desk he barely used and a bag of toys. Since we moved into our new home he's slept on a pull out sofa or my bed!

Soooo...

My sister offered to buy him this AWESOME bunkbed with a full on the bottom and a twin on the top. It was WAY more than I could afford but exactly what he wanted.

This morning he woke up and said he was so glad he was so blessed to have her for an Auntie. And you know what...

She was furloughed from her job last week!

No matter, she told me she was prepared for that (she's a whiz with money) and she still wanted him to have this bed.

I just wanted to tell you all that my sister is an angel!

You and your sister are so lucky to have each other. That is so nice of her. My sister and I tolerate each other and I really wish I had a good relationship with her. We are close to each others kids though.

How wonderful for Michael! It will be great when he has a friend over for sleepovers.

I have a sister like that too. She is unmarried (though she's been "dating" the same guy for 19 years!) and has no children of her own. She is absolutely wonderful with my kids and would give them the shirt off her back. After many years of her generosity she was rewarded with a huge amount of money from a 20-year old class action lawsuit she had forgotten about. I really believe that what goes around comes around. If that's the case, your sister should have a new job very soon.

The delivery guys came, put up the beds and was GONE in about twenty minutes. I ran home and was astonished!

Now she wants to give him her other present, some Spongebob Squarepants sheets!! Michael and I FIGHT about old SS....

I told her to wait and put those under the tree!

Michael called me to tell me he can now touch the ceiling!! He said "Mommy, I LOVE YOU! with a tear in his voice... He's so easy to do things for!

Don't get me wrong, my sister and I have had our moments! We are only 11 months apart and you've never met two people so OPPOSITE!! She's shy, I'm NOT, she's quiet, I'm NOT, she's neat.... well, you get it...

As for her job, it's the good ol' IRS and they usually furlough tax examiners this time of year, she knows it in advance and she prepares for it. They'll bring her back in January or February.

The wonderful thing about my sister is she always manages to give more of herself when she's at her lowest... it's how she gets her blessings.

Wow, that was so sweet of your sis, Robin! My boys want bunkbeds as well, but DH is under the impression he can make them. Which he probably CAN, but WHEN he might do that is anyone's guess.
