my dad

I'm so sorry for you. I know exactly how you feel, my dad passed away suddenly seven years ago at age 64, and my mom has had a very hard time adjusting. She was a stay at home mom and wife, and had virtually never been on her own. Things will be rough for a while, and your mom may be bitter and unlike herself for quite some time. Be there for her, and when you need some extra hugs and support we are all here for you. I'll keep you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers.

A lot or a little, femmegirl, makes no matter, you are DIS family. So sorry to hear about your dad, so young indeed. You, mom and all your family members are in my prayers and good wishes. God speed for you dad. I love your thought.......
He was a professor at a community college in Pittsburgh. He really cared if his students learned
What a wonderfully simple thought, he really cared. What a memory of a great guy, he cared. Femmegirl, please do drop by as you feel the need or desire, someone always here with an ear and shoulder, family.

Dan

I'm so sorry. My prayers will be with your family.

I'm so sorry femmegirl---:( ---we here on the DIS boards are here for you any time you need to vent or need a shoulder to lean on.

My Dear Father in Law passed away very unexpectedly at 63 (two years ago); he also was a teacher. He died on his 40th Wedding Anniversary----needless to say that makes it very hard on my dear mother in law....This is a tough time for you, I know, but just take it day by day.

Thank all of you for your thoughts. I am waiting to hear what my mom has decided as far as a service. I live in another state so I am unable to be by her side. I am glad that 2 of my sisters are there in Pittsburgh with her.

She told me not to come there, but I feel like I need to be there. I will be talking to her later this morning to try and figure out the next step.

My SO has been a dream. The calls I was unable to make were made.

I called a friend of his last night to let her know and there were tears, but also some nice memories of my childhood when I saw her often. She was very glad I let her know. My dad did not write things down so the only other way for her to find out was the newspaper and I did not feel that would be the best.

I really miss him.

I'm sorry...You and your family are in my prayers.
