Oh sweetie! I feel so very badly for you! I can not imagine. I think sometimes about how I could manage the loss of one of my parents and it just does not seem possible. They both mean the world to me and I can not even begin to know what one must go through loosing them. I am so sorry! I wish there were words I could say that would take away your pain. I do hope you still try to go on your trip. I am sure your dad would have wanted you to still go and try to have a nice time. Sending lots of ((HUGS)) your way and hopes that you will have lots of love to help you through this.

My condolences on the passing of your father. He must have been a very caring an unselfish man. My father passed away in February 2003 and to this day, I still miss him. You will forever carry the memory of your father in your heart. Peace be with you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. My Dad passed away this May. It has been the hardest thing I have ever been through. I can't give any advice on your trip but that is how our trip came about. I was thinking about taking our boys to Disney but not this year then my Dad got sick unexpectedly, was put on life support, ( we had to make the decision to remove life support), and he passed away. Everything happened in 5 days. It was so hard to hold everything together that after 2 months of saddness, I planned a trip to Disney to give me (and my hubby and kids) something to look forward to. I have the best memories of my father from our numerous trips to Disney when I as a child/teen and I know that my Dad would be happy for us taking a family vacation. It may be too soon for you to enjoy a vacation or it might just be what you need, it all depends on how you feel.
I hope that soon you'll be able to have the good memories without shedding too many tears of sadness. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Chris.

well today was the wake, I am tired but can't fall asleep. Tomorrow is the funeral and that's going to be hard but I am finding comfort in knowing he is with my mom, they are finally together after 8 yrs when she passed. I knew my father was an amazing man but after yesterday I now know that he wasn't just amazing to me but all his family and friends that he has touched in his 87 years of life

It's so hard to lose someone that meant so much to us. I did much the same thing when my Mom died. I reminded myself that she was with her Dad, who she loved and missed very much. Cling to those comforting thoughts to get through this tough time. I was also very comforted by the kindness of friends. I never understood how important the funeral is until I lost someone close to me. It really does help, even though it's emotional of course. I had to get over my phobia of crying in public. After a point, I couldn't control it anyway, so I just put on plenty of waterproof mascara! Thanks for posting your update. We're keeping you in our thoughts.
