Apparently the contract between Sulake and Disney expired, and Sulake didn't want to renew it. It's pretty believeable because:
1. Disney usually wouldn't do this
2. It's all of a sudden, at a random time with no warning.
3. Disney won't tell us WHY
4. Disney won't listen to our pleas.

What do you think?

Where did your dad find these explanations, or are they just your dad's thoughts on the subject? Either way they make more sense, to me, than other explanations that have been tossed around.

I thought it was because of the fact disney wanted to put all the games projects under its own name

actually its the opposite. Disney chose to not renew the contract not sulake

Interesting, but if Sulake did not want to renew, then why was this such a shock to VMK Staff (Sulake employees)? I think you might be close but there is more to it.

Do you know this for a fact? I am not doubting you at all - I was wondering if anyone has uncovered concrete proof of whose decision this was...

That is the biggest thing that baffles me - in this day where most peolpe can find any information about almost anything - I have not seen anyone uncover anything concrete...

I am not saying no one has - I am saying I have not seen it...

Well primarily its difficult to uncover because Disney will only release that one statement, the one we all hate. It was a promotion and its over :rotfl: Sulake is under a confidentiality clause per contract with Disney.

Sulake can never make a statement.

Haven't we theorized about this before? It does seem kind of likely, but Sulake did say it was Disney's choice... then again they could be lying.

I wonder if it would be possible to find the contract...

I don't get it... Why all the secrets? One ofther thought (Which popped into my head while watching LOST last week) maybe we are asking the wrong question....

We all what to know why VMK is closing, none of us believe the line about the promotion... should we be asking why the 'promotion' is ending...

Well they answered that too, all promotions come to an end was the answer.

To that I say this:

VMK Stopped being a promotional tool when the 50th celebration ended at Disneyland and yet VMK opened up the next morning.

Hmph.

If it was a "promotion" at this point, why were they continuing to develop new things? Why were they making things like VMK Stories? Why were they developing the trading card game (that never was)?

Not directing this at you, aengus... just at VMK in general. I don't get it.

So is the next question why do all promotions have to come to an end AND if i can find enough instances where promtions have not ended would that keep it open?

I feel like my five year old... but why... but why... round and round we go...

Exactly my question to this. :)
