My current "obsession"

why is that play so famous?

I hated it.

Because it's like the "feel good play of the year" lol. It's among his easiest to understand and so more people read it. Also, as far as having someone you love be someone hard to get is something people can relate to. It's probably one of his most studied plays because of the fact that it is so incredibly easy to understand and interpret. There isn't much "depth" to it if you compare it to his other plays - not as much questions to be brought about it -- it's pretty straight forward.

I don't believe in love at first sight. I was rolling my eyes the whole way through.

The ending really bothered me. Its like "oh our kids are dead. lets be friends."

I really hate that this play is pretty much the first taste people get of Shakespeare. It makes people not want to read any more of his plays and makes people compare Shakespeare to Romeo and Juliet. That play - compared to his others - is not good lol. King Lear is good. Twelfth Night is good. Macbeth and Hamelt are good. Romeo and Juliet doesn't even compare lol.

I just finished Act 4 of Twelfth Night (Shakespeare - what else? :upsidedow ) and I have one scene left (Act 5 is all one scene). I LOVE this play and it may (though a comedy) surpass Hamlet and King Lear  For me, that is huge lol. I was actually laughing out loud reading it and it was just so much better than some other comedies such as A Midsummer Night's Dream. There is so much going on in the play and just how it pans out...ah...so good.

Well that is my current "obession". lol. It's bothersome too...I have no one to talk to about it with!! lol.

So, what are you currently "obsessed" with today? Perhaps there is some type of music you listen to over and over again until you drive your family OFF THE WALL -- or perhaps you can't get enough of a new item/toy/etc.? Whatever it may be...let out your excitement for it here whether you are able to openly talk about it or not. ;)

ETA: Good Lord! I had the thread title there and it was misspelled!! :scared1: LOL! No worries, I fixed it ;) lol.

I also Love Shakespier! Whats your favorite play that he wrote? Mine is Romeo and Juliet.

Twelth Night, that is the shakespearean play they based Shes the Man on?

I've never read that play, I've only actually read MacBeth and Midsummers night Dream.

I enjoy Shakespeare to a certain extent.

I'd make a list but it'd be too long.

I obsess over everything.
Storytime!

The other day I wanted to get something... I don't remember what it was, a shirt or something, perhaps. My mom said yea, my dad said no. Dad overruled and I didn't get the shirt. I was talking about it the rest of the day. My dad told me to stop obsessing. I explained to him that obviously he doesn't know me too well because I obsess over EVERYTHING. I mean everything.
Even my mom agreed. ::yes::!

Currently it's my crush. Who could pass for my love since I can answer all of Shelby's questions. ;)
