Hi everyone! Sorry for the delays. I've been pretty sick since I came home so I'm sorry for not posting links sooner. Here is my Coronado Springs Picture Website. Photo Galleries, Restaurant Menus and a Screen Saver are now available. Tips, Video & Essential Info will be updated shortly

Two Words: Loved It!
We arrived August 13th at about 2:30 in the afternoon. There was no wait for check in. The cast member that checked us in was very fast and informative. She gave us all the pertinent documents(hours schedule, CSR map and Info) We also got the Amex White Glove treatment package without even asking. It consisted of two pin lanyards and two Amex trading pins. We asked for E-night tickets for that night but told her we hadn't gotten our annual passes yet. She seemed hesitant to issue them since she thought one day had to be used prior to getting e-night tickets. Anyhow in the long run we got them and purchased annual passes at MK.
Fortunately our room was ready and a nice young man drove us to our room (which was unecessary since we were so close to El Centro) We were put in Casitas 1, ground floor, room 1177. It was about a 1 minute walk to El Centro. We hadn't planned on puchasing refillable mugs but decided to since we were so close.
My first impression of the resort was that is was smaller than it seemed from pictures. Lago Dorado (the lake) wasn't as large as I pictured it. Our room viewed a courtyard full of roses with the lake in the distance. (I will have my photos put up later-I took 167 of Coronado alone!
)
The room was neat and clean. There was a card on our toilet indicating it had been repaired! I was very cautious everytime I flushed for fear of it over flowing. There was some trouble with the drawers in the dresser. It jammed up some of the time. Also maid service was hit and miss. Several days in a row my mom left a note asking for more Kleenex with a tip. The tip was taken every day but no kleenex arrived. We only had a few tissues in the box to begin with. On the morning we departed the maid kept banging on the door and shouting maid service even though the deadbolt was on and the bill was still on the door. This woke my mom up an hour earlier than necessary. It was 8am. We didn't need to be out until 10 or 11am at the latest (which was check out time) Also we found maids shouting from across buildings at each other. I've been on ground floor Disney rooms before the but carts here were really loud. One day the maid never brought a bath mat. On the flip side we did receive a nice call from the Housekeeping supervisor one day when we slept in saying they respected our privacy sign and if we needed service or anything to just call. On another day our maid carefully arranged our toiletries with some hand towels. It was obvious we had different maids every day since some days were good and others not so good.
We did enjoy the mexican style of the room. It was colorful but comforting. I do wish they had double sinks though.
The staff at the hotel was polite and friendly.
We truly enjoyed the Pepper Market and felt it easily worth the 10 percent service charge. It was easy to mix and match meals due to the variety at the food stations. The mexican one was especially good. I loved their enchilladas! There was always someone to ask if we wanted drinks and cleared our table as necessary.
Bus service was awesome! The majority of the time the bus was less than a 1/4 full. One time it was just my mom and myself on a bus to Epcot. Never had to wait more than about 10 minutes for a bus.
I cannot believe how close this resort is to Epcot and MGM. I guess from staying a couple of times at the All-Stars I was under the impression it was as far as them. Not true. You could see the Dolphin from Lago Dorado and also the Tower Of Terror. A 5 minute bus drive to either park. The bus to Animal Kingdom first stops at Blizzard Beach.
The Dig Site is absolutely amazing. Had the weather cooperated more often we would have spent more time there. The pool is well thought out with steps along the edges for non swimmers (like my mother) and is wide open enough for a good swim. The slide is extremely fast. I do wish it was a little deeper at the drop off point of the slide. One of my legs hit the bottom and I felt the impact in my knee. Maybe 30 year olds shouldn't be riding kiddie slides
The atmosphere at the Dig Site is tropical and relaxing. Nice background music and the bar wasn't crowded. We filled our mugs there once. Wish we could have eaten there. I never got to use the jacuzzi. It was too HOT (the weather I mean)
They have a nifty children's playground at the Digsite along with a video arcade. The arcade is perfect for getting out of the sun for a few minutes. There is also a merchandise cart that sells swim toys, suntan lotion, cover ups and bathing suits (if you forget your own lol)
Siesta's (the bar and grill) has tropical drinks and typical fast food. There are washrooms around the corner from the bar. It was nice being able to bring our mugs there for free refills. The mugs were $10.95.
I walked through the whole resort and took photos and video. I found all sections to be very pretty and tropical. I loved the cactus enviorment of the ranchos and the beach atmosphere of the cabanas. The castitas were gorgeous with their fountains and gardens. I felt like I was in a deluxe hotel in the casitas.
La Tienda sells snacks, newpapers and other goodies. There is a good selection of alcohol and beverages. There are also some cold sandwiches available. The only thing I would have like to have seen there was a fruit and cheese plate. That was the one thing I was unable to get at the Pepper Market.
I'm sure I've probably forgotten some details. Figures I'd come home with a raging cold
I'm medicated right now. To sum up I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. We loved it. As for maid problems they weren't enough of an annoyance to complain. Although the morning we were leaving would have been reason to. (they have been renovating the casitas and we were painted into our room) We had to climb over masking tape to get out.
Again like I said I'd stay there in a heartbeat. We loved the attention to detail around the resort, the theming, friendly staff, adult atmosphere and ammenities. I don't know why some people say this resort doesn't feel "Disney." It felt extremely "Disney" to me. I did encounter more convention goers but then again I prefer a more adult atmosphere. There were lots of families in the ranchos and cabanas sections.
Anyhow I hope this info is of some use to future guests. I'll be happy to answer questions
BTW I'll have my pics up as soon as I get them sorted. I took almost 1000 on this trip. Thank goodness for digital cameras!
