My coffee pot has died, any recommendations

Hi. I have a Black and Decker Smart Brew. Works great and is under $30.00. Keeps the coffee very hot. If you decide you don't need the timer, you can get the same pot without it for under $20.00. Mine is about 2 years old and no problems. Easy to find in WalMart or Target.

You just reminded me to call Gevalia. DO NOT go with them! Oy...nothing but problems. Now when I call I'm going to cancel. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Our coffe pot was definately on its last legs at Christmas time, leaked and took forever to brew coffee. I kept complaining to my husband how we need a new pot.

LOL, on Christmas morning, guess what was the under tree. A new coffee pot. First I thought thank Goodness a pot which works. Then I thought OMG I have become my mother, appliances for gifts. But my husband insisted I start a fresh pot of coffee after figuring out how to make it I flipped open the water reservior and inside was a diamond pendant he bought me.

G-d, I love that man. Last year he took my old engagement ring where I lost the stone. Along with my mothers ring (Who passed away 12yrs ago) and had her stone set into my ring and resized. (I am twice the woman I was when I met my DH.) It had twice the sentiment as I was so close to my mother. OK he had me in tears last Christmas too.

Did you like your Mr. Coffee? You could just get the same kind as a replacement. I previously had a Black and Decker and the carafe was forever chipping and breaking. I replaced with a Mr. Coffee, and I promise I don't treat this carafe any differently, but never a chip or crack.

a nice quite family ceremony is sufficent, its not like your coffee pot was really well known outside the home, now if it wasyou should invite those ppl who really knew and loved it to join you in a just a brief celebration of its life and then let it move on, surely it wont haunt you over being replaced, as it has served well over time,

serious note,, the water around here is so bleckk that we buy bottled water from the store to make coffee and tea with, and i use the el cheepo 15 buck w-m coffee makesr,, they last abuot 6 to 8 months and then i go spends another 15 bucks and start over

Wow a lot of coffee lovers here. Thanks for all the replies everyone. :D

I don't drink coffee but dh does. The one we got for our engagement party is still brewing away 17+ years later. It's a Braun.

My parents, on the other hand, have burned out more coffee makers than I can count. Their current one is a percolator and they are using the same kind of coffee my grandmother did when she was alive. There's something comforting about that, imho. :D

loves my percolator:) but only uses it in the winter time at home,, or when we go camping,, nothing like a percolator on a wood fire to make you appreciate a good coffee maker:) ( altho the perced is a much better cup :) )

I love my Gevalia (with timer), but I've also recently discovered the joys of an electric kettle. I use a Melitta single cup drip cone with a filter, 2 scoops of coffee and a few minutes later, I have a WDW travel mug full of fresh coffee with no waste! (I'm the only coffee drinker) It, of course, is also wonderful for making tea, both hot and iced, and hot cocoa (with a homemade mix :) )
