My best friend married a man with grown sons (over 35). At one of their first dinners together the wife of one of the sons asks her what she was going to do with her jewelry when she died.My mom was building a new house and my step-sister-in-law actually asked if anything ever happened to my Mom and Step-Dad if she could have the house! Never mind I'm around, but also another step-brother.
Another time when my step-dad was getting ready to leave for Iraq she actually asked if she could have his Harley if something happened to him over there.
My friend was only 50 - not exactly one foot in the grave. I love her answer - "That won't be anything that concerns you."
