My co-worker is a fountain of misinformation!! 5/14 the day has come page 130

My mom was building a new house and my step-sister-in-law actually asked if anything ever happened to my Mom and Step-Dad if she could have the house! Never mind I'm around, but also another step-brother.

Another time when my step-dad was getting ready to leave for Iraq she actually asked if she could have his Harley if something happened to him over there.
My best friend married a man with grown sons (over 35). At one of their first dinners together the wife of one of the sons asks her what she was going to do with her jewelry when she died.

My friend was only 50 - not exactly one foot in the grave. I love her answer - "That won't be anything that concerns you."

Oh, that IS a fabulous answer! Good for her! And :scared: on someone even asking that question!

It's pretty hot here in Chicago today, and will be for the rest of the week. :beach: Anyway, Miss Info is talking to our department head and the conversation turns what you put the thermostat on for your air conditioning at home. She tells him that she leaves it at 72º during the day and turns it down to 68º when she goes to bed!! It's got to be like a meat locker in her house! Either that or her air conditioner needs to be fixed big time

mines on 64 right now. i am constantly hot. my boyfriend is huddled up in a sweatshirt cause im freezing him out!

She'll probably be complaining about her electric bill next. Hmmm, maybe she needs to know about solar energy instead. I'm sure her comments would be amusing.

Try 62 here, and its cloudy....I sometimes wear footy pajamas to bed....in SUMMER!:confused3

Actually, that's exactly what we do - 72 during the day and 68 at night. I'm so scared that I have something in common with this woman!

Okay I guess I have to ask, why would you keep your house that cold?

I will say for us, it feels good and my husband cannot sleep in heat. It also helps keep the bill down to keep it w/in 5 degrees for day and night. We dont' have a high electric bill either. Our room upstairs is hot most of the time and it just keeps the house over all nice. Granted I am pregnant right now but anything about about 72 makes me feel ill.

Ours is set at 78º. I can't afford to put it much lower than that. And it is plenty cool enough for us.

Cold is in the eye of the beholder. :hippie: I can't sleep when I'm hot. I want a cold room so I can sleep well. Oh, and my ceiling fan is on, too. Gotta keep that cold air circulating.

I agree that cold is in the eye of the beholder and the AGE of the female beholder. If she's going through menopause there is no cold. I had a hysterectomy in March and the hot flashes are HOT. I can't keep my house that cold (due to the electric bill) but if I'm in a hotel that baby gets set as low as it goes. When we were in San Antonio I had it set on 60 and was still sweating. When we left the room in the morning for breakfast it felt so hot in the halls (it was about 72) compared to our room. Poor dh he's such a camper-a freezing one!! Can't wait for winter this year

I don't do heat well. If I could afford to keep the house colder than 75 in the day and 70 at night you can bet I would do it. In the winter, I sleep with windows open no matter how cold it is outside and the thermostat is set in the low 60's. LOVE the cold weather, I'm counting down the days until October here in HOT HUMID NJ.

It is scary that I agree with this nutball on something though...

Speaking of cold, I just looked down at my Accuweather strip on my computer and it says it's 14 degrees Fahrenheit right now! And to think I was just outside sweating, in a t-shirt and shorts. Me thinks it must be some sort of mistake - weather dot com has us at 91 degrees.

In regards to our AC, it's set at about 77-78 during the day, not sure what we have it programed at night be we'll be dropping it a few degrees. I don't sleep well when it's hot and I haven't been sleeping well.

It's 86 degrees in here.. not by choice. We don't have central air, and the window ac just can't keep it cool enough. When we did have central I tried to not put it under 70, but if I could I'd keep it around 66-68.

I finally made it to the last page... I've been reading bits of this for over a week, and I made it. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: `

Our central AC is 70 all the time.

Sometimes DH gets cold, but with me having my own "private summers" over here, he's nice enough to put on a sweatshirt.

We keep ours at a constant temperature...73 degrees. The house just naturally seems colder at night anyhow so why bother turning it lower. I do have a ceiling fan above my bed that is also on all the time to help circulate the cold air and the one big bedroom has a stand fan instead of a ceiling fan. At 73 degrees my girls are walking around in sweats and hoodies and under blankets...I am comfortable in my shorts and tees.

I try to keep it between 68-73 because upstairs is always warmer- any higher and the girls are sweating in their sleep.

Ours is set on 72 at night. DH and I both get hot at night. Huge king size pillow top bed. That sucker gets hot. We have the fan blowing in the bedroom at night just to keep the air circulating. But the main reason the air is cool because the dog gets hot way before we do. Poor old guy is 10 and he deserves not to sweat to death.:rotfl2:
