Today was my annual Christmas party for several women in my church and I had a candy buffet instead of desserts. Here's a pic.
I made turtles (with my homemade caramel), chocolate truffles decorated with edible gold glitter stars, brown sugar creams (fondant made from scratch), old-fashioned chocolate covered cherries (homemade fondant wrapped around a cherry then dipped in chocolate), coconut bon-bons dipped in white chocolate, red velvet cake balls dipped in white chocolate, hand-decorated marshmallow Christmas trees (made with homemade marshmallow), white chocolate cherry fudge, mint truffle fudge squares, chocolate walnut fudge, and delicate white chocolate snow flake mints. I purchased the really thin, old-fashioned ribbon candy, old-fashioned Christmas rock candy & mini-pillows, holiday Jelly Bellies, plus extra large cashews, cinnamon almonds, and honey sesame sticks.
I used an assortment of antique candy dishes, my parents wedding crystal (58 yr old) and several modern pieces. My 3-set pedestal cake plate set became a tower centerpiece. At the end of the brunch, I gave them all boxes for take-home treats.
It was fun to make and fun to share!
