My Choices....what would you eliminate?

We loved Sci Fi I did not care for the shrimp pasta meal or the apple dessert but the others had steak and were happy! We all loved the onion rings and the dip which we shared I had the oreo milkshake which was to die for and our waiter Michael was great kidded with the kids and was very attentive . The atmoshere is awesome. I hear their burghers are wonderful so for lunch that would be a great choice ! We also loved dinner at CP!!

I know I'm going to be a minority here but I say keep SAI and drop both 50s PTC and Whispering Canyon.

I think Hoop Dee Doo Review is very highly overrated personally ... although we were on the regular dining plan and had to use two table services to go, that is why I say this .

If you don't want to eat 3 sit down meals a day or just 3 large meals a day you can put in a few signature restaurants which will take 2 of the 3 meals included each day.

I would take out the following

Chef Mickey - atmosphere is fun but food is awful, breakfast a little better then dinner
If you want to add another character breakfast go to Cape May Buffet, much better food

San Angel Inn - food just ok

I would look to add Wolfgang Puck Cafe for either lunch of dinner
The Express is just a counter service place and while very good the cafe has awesome food

50's prime time - great atmosphere, food just ok
Sci Fi - food just ok
Whispering Canyon is VERY loud if you are ok with that keep it if not take it off

Since you mentioned you weren't much into fish I would drop Narcoossees as they have a mostly fish menu and replace it with Citricos

As to Jiko not being kid friendly I have always seen a lot of kids here during the earlier times and I find that they have one of the nicer kids menu choices

Beaches and Cream doesn't accept ADR's anyway it is walk up only - unless that has changed from the last time I went there.

My family really enjoys this show and paying $50-$60 for dinner and a show is a bargain compared to what the cost of this would be in my area at home

#1 Under no circumstance would I drop Narcoossee's

#2 Keep them all on the list, but rank them in preference. You may not be able to get them all when you go to make ADRs, so think of it as already having a back up plan.

#3 Your plan is to eat every meal as TS. I think that's an aggressive plan. Due to time spent eating and being too full for that next meal. So again understand that even once your ADRs are set and you're afoot at Disney, you still may choose to simply grab a meal at the Pop food court and that will be just fine if it makes YOUR family happy. If you were staying at an upgraded resort you' have the option of room service, but not at Pop. Just cancel those TS meals you won't make so some other family can have that magic. :thumbsup2

We had 2 TS meals planned just once. We canceled breakfast, ate at our resort TS, spent the rest of the morning at the pool, went to AK in the afternoon(ice cream at the park) then enjoyed our Boma dinner right after park closing. No way could I have enjoyed a breakfast buffet that morning, we didn't finish a shared breakfast platter and we love breakfast food!

Wish I had your dining dilemma, have fun with planning and ultimately enjoy your trip!

I was thinking of dropping flying fish since I already have a few of those other signature meals and we're not too big on fish.

Septbaby - I agree that Narcoossees is wonderful but based on this post I would think that Citricos would be a better choice for them

Now this is just MY opinion.....

Breakfast:
Boma

lunch:
wolfgang puck express

dinner:
Jiko

I know it would probably make sense to drop this since it gets bad reviews, but I think the atmosphere would be great and it will fit into my schedule perfectly.

This is interesting. Despite the facts that I've read all the horrible reviews of Sci-Fi, it keeps cropping up there in my list of maybes. Of course, the atmosphere looks fantastic, but I think another reason so many people end up there because of the limited choices at MGM.

I do agree that there isn't enough TS options in Mgm.

For me it's a no brainer- I'd drop Boma in a NY Outlaw minute (love the pun).

We tried it in 2005 when we stayed at AKL, and being the picky eater I am, I found myself eating only spaghetti.

At that time we didn't have a dining plan, so it was a pretty darn expensive plate of spaghetti, as you can imagine.

I would just like to add that if you like good food and even bigger portions- especially roasted turkey- try the Liberty Tree Tavern at MK. That was a late add for us in April and I liked it so much, I will make sure it's on my return list.

Did you only try the spaghetti, Outlaw? (I didn't even see spaghetti when I was there.) If so, I don't think that's really enough to base a review of the restaurant on.

I tried a bunch of stuff, I only mentioned the spaghetti because it was the only thing I actually went back for more. I am a very picky eater and most of the food had things in them I wouldn't eat in my own house, more or less pay $$ for. So I think I did have enough to make a review on it.

But isn't the point of eating at a restaurant to try things that you don't/can't usually make at home?

I think Boma is a good place for that. So, unless you are a really picky eater, give it a try!

I have to agree with Septbaby. A few years ago (ok, like 12), my dh, and my parents went in Dec on the food and fun plan. We had two sit down meals a day and a counter service. We felt like we spent all of our time either in restaurants or on our way to a restaurant. It got really frustrating because we didn't feel like we had time to see hardly anything we wanted to. Granted it was a busy time of year...

After the first day we were never hungry and we were actually dreading another meal. We would try stuff and just couldn't eat any more. We did have a blast trying so many different restaurants, but said we didn't think we'd ever do it again. MY suggestion would be to have one restaurant each day that you are really looking forward to, and then another one that day that you could live without. Or one where you know you'll like the whole meal, and one where you think the appetizers and desserts look really interesting. That way if you just cannot do it (eat a whole meal again) you won't be beating yourself up because you looked forward to it for so long. Of course, you'd still have to take locations into account.:goodvibes

I would cancel Boma for breakfast, (we didn't see the appeal for breakfast - dinner may be a very different story), and move Cape May Cafe to breakfast instead. That way you are getting an extra character meal for your daughter. Plus you weren't too keen on seafood, and the last time we ate there I wasn't happy with the non-seafood selections.

I would skip San Angel Inn for lunch. (I haven't seen a favorable review for years.)

I would skip Yachtsman's steakhouse and Flying Fish for dinner. The reasoning behind Flying Fish is because of your comment regarding not being fond of seafood (and there isn't much on the menu besides that.)
The reasoning behind Yachtsman Steakhouse is because you are also eating at Le Cellier.

Whew... that is a lot of food that you have planned! DH and I were on the regular dining plan in October and we could barely use all the credits. (And we are big eaters.) I would recommend a very early lunch on the days you are choosing to eat them. Otherwise, I don't think you will be very hungry at dinner time.

I had fun at Sci-Fi. We went for a late lunch and the onion rings were excellent, the shake was fabulous and the burger was pretty good. The atmosphere was great and it was a much needed break from the heat and the crowds. I hear so much that the food is horrid, but I thought it was pretty good. Don't know if some people expect too much from burgers and sammies, or they are ordering other things there and are leaving disappointed, or if they were there on days with a bad or new chef.
But you know, I think Le Cellier is over-rated and it is one of the most beloved restaurants on the Dis, so whatever.
Just goes to show you that opinions are like butts - everybody has one, and most of us think others' stink.
