Can't believe I'm posting this  I'm wickedly private, but I got myself joined into a group a week or so ago, and I've been trying to do a paper journal, but, well.. that doesn't work for me. I think faster than I can write, so we'll see how this online journaling attempt goes. I think running the 5K might be easier than keeping up the journaling ;)

Anyway... I decided about two weeks ago to do the Couch-to-5K program and the last two weeks I've just been testing myself out to see if I think I can do this. So I've been mostly walking but running in spurts and I think I'm ready to start this on Tuesday. My body is very achy today from my walk/run yesterday and I normally take Mondays off, so I want to stick with that.

I know I can do it... as long as I stick with it. And that is my biggest roadblock. I get bored easily. But I'm determined, so here goes nothing!

(Oh yeah... one other thing... I don't have a couch :rolleyes1)

I started the Couch to 5K in March and I ran my first 5K 2 weeks ago. You can do it! The very first time I ran, I thought I was going to die, LOL. If you follow the program, every time you increase your running time or your distance and you meet that goal, it is the best feeling of accomplishment ever. The first time I ran 1 mile straight through, I cried because I was so PROUD of myself. When I was able to do 2 miles for the first time, I cried. When I was able to run 3 miles for the first time, I cried, and you guessed it, when I finished my race 2 weeks ago, I cried, LOL. I can now run 5 miles straight through without stopping and my next goal is a 15K. The program works! If you need to repeat a week, then repeat it. When I first started, I think I repeated the first 4 or 5 weeks twice. Good luck!!:thumbsup2

You both are giving me inspiration. I am bound and determined to do this program ... AGAIN! Did it twice before and worked like a charm both times. Unfortunately, due to medical reasons (in the beginning) I haven't worked out in over 18 months. Even though I've been cleared for about 12 months. Can you say laziness, exhaustion, etc.??

I will become a runner again. Thank you both for the inspiration. I really don't want to be exhausted come this October touring commando style for 11 days.

Thanks so much!!

Hi !!
I just started the couch 25K training. My friend and I signed up for the Princess Half and figured since neither one of us have run a day in,our life we might want to start something! Yesterday was my first day of walking and attempting to jog, definitely NOT running. I didn't realize how out of shape I was until I was about halfway home and my legs felt like jello! I am determined to do this so we will see how it goes. Tomorrow will be day 2 and I am hoping it will be easier! By the way, I am in Ft Lauderdale and it feels like it's 100 degrees outside.
Good luck and I look forward to reading your journal and seeing how you come along. :cheer2:
