My Celebration Vacation

Great shoes and shirts. I wore the same type of sandles last time we went and this time I wore Crocs. They were great, but I ended up with blisters right where my toes meet my foot, inbetween the big toe and the next one. I think it was because they got wet. The Crocs, not the Nike sandles.

Our movers are coming the 8th to start packing, and then we plan to be in the car on the 15th heading to FL. Still waiting word on the inspection they did Friday on our current home. I sure hope there aren't any major problems and that our buyers still want it.

Love the shirts and shoes!! Isn't it fun to be buying stuff for your trip?

This is the bag that my sister bought me for my birthday. I keep trying to shrink the picture but it just stays big.

How exciting!! Love all of your new stuff! I wear my crocs all year long and they dry quickly when they get wet, or you can dry them with a paper towel if you want them dry more quickly!!
Love your shirt and bag!!!
Your trip is coming up quickly!! Glad you are "conditioning" for it!

Hey havinfun! Congrats on beating breast cancer! My mom is a almost 3 year survivor now!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: We went in December of 2004 when she had breast cancer and it was an amazing trip because everything was 'okay' for a bit. Then we went back last year over Christmas and in my mind it was our 'celebration' trip. We are hopefully going back this year for another 'celebration' trip (well in my mind again). So glad everything is going well for you and I hope everything continues to go your way. :)

all the new stuff looks great.........its getting closer and closer:cool1:
Lucky you

Hi Everyone,

Less than a month for a lot of us now. I'm still buying new stuff. DH and went shopping today. I bought some shorts and socks. He bought shorts and t-shirts. We are going to Universal Studios before Disney. I saw this t-shirt I would have loved to wear there. It was Lucy (from I love Lucy) stomping the grapes. I really liked it but it was $19 and I am 52 years old so I didn't get it. I guess I have to to start dressing my age. I just don't feel 52.

I looked in the Disney store and they didn't have any t-shirts that I really liked. I'm glad I bought the ones I have.

Our maps and packet came today. I thought it was funny because DH didn't know that the AK existed. We haven't been to Disney since 1996. he's really excited about the us getting the Dining plan. We have one ADR at LeCellier. I checked the menus this week and the prices went up. I think even with having to pay tip and not getting appetizer we will get our money's worth.

It's time for me to read everyone else's pre-trips and trip reports. Bye for now.

I scanned some old Disney pictures into my computer. This is the only I can find. The other ones are somewhere in my computer. I hope I find them.

I forgot to set the picture to a smaller setting.

I've never seen this float before. Where was it at? Old pictures are so fun to look at. I hope you find the others so we can see those too.

I've made a list of "to do stuff' to complete before we leave. I really need to finish this stuff, because I will be returning to work on 2 days after I return. I've accomplished much of my list. I put the newspaper on hold. I tried to hold the mail, but I guess it is too soon. They only listed dates are until the end of July. I got my pedicure today. I have to have pretty feet for "The Mouse". Last week I bought a bag to bring to the parks. Now I am having second thoughts, thinking the bag might be too big. I will keep looking for the perfect bag, but If I don't find one I still have this one: http://www.ebags.com/f_l/brick_house_sling/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=86456

I found out today that I will have to attend two days of classes at the end of this month. We are getting a new computer system at work.

I also scheduled my car for maintainence. I am behind on it and know once I go back to work I won't have the time. I tried again today to change the time of my ADR at LeCellier. No luck :sad1: It is still booked up.

Here are some old pics from my last trip.

That picture was of the toy soldiers from Toy Story. The year ... 1996.

This pic. was taken in Epcot at Italy. My youngest son and me.

Hi,

Yesterday I returned the bag that I bought for Disney. I think it was really too big and heavy to carry around everyday. So I searched the dis.boards and found that someone had ordered from http://shoebuy.com. She seemed very happy with her purchase. Well I ordered this Baggalini messenger bag. I really hope I like it. http://www.shoebuy.com/baggallini-mes160c-messenger-bagg/121625/285293. It looks light and has the water bottle holder. I only paid$28.04. First time buyers get 10% off on their first orders. They also posted a code to get 20% off. I don't know if they do that all the time or not. I can't wait to get it. I plan on putting in 2 ponchos, a little first aid kit with bandaids, wet ones, purel, blister bandaids. I want to also carry pages from passporter, room key, money, and cell phone. If there is room maybe a misty mate. If there is no room I will send the new misty mate I bought to my son in Iraq. I will probably send it to him when I get back if I use on this trip.

I also went to Walmart yesterday and bought motion sickness pills. I get sick on some rides, a Tide stain stick and a few other things to bring along. I finished one 'to do list" but I have now started on another one.

DH cousin called today. They live near Orlando. We had planned on visiting them the day of arrival but that got changed. His aunt will be having dialysis that day and get really wiped out. So we will visit them the next day. Next chapter my Florida Trip Itinerary. :goodvibes

Well here our tentative plans. These are not set in stone. I just thought it might be easier if I had some plan in place. It worries me about having all these "get up early days". I am really a night person, but for vacation I guess I can do it. :goodvibes

If anyone has any suggestions, just let me know. We haven't been to Disney Work since 1996 and it looks like lots has changed.

Saturday we went to the Pierogie Fest in Whiting, In. We had a great time eating and just being with friends. On Sunday we went to Indianapolis for our first Nascar race. We left at 5:30 am and boy was that rough. I am a night owl. The day was warm. After walking around for awhile. We sat on a shady hill. Lined up in front of us were some of the past pacecars of this race.

Of course we had to go stand on the Indianapolic Motor Speedway track. Here is a view of the track taken before the race.

Later we got in our seats. Here is on the views from our seats.

Before the race the "America the Beautiful" was sung.

Your trip plan looks great. We tried Tutto Italia on our last trip and really enjoyed it. We felt full the rest of the evening.

Love the pics from the race, do you have more?

I took over my daughter's bed (she doesn't live with us anymore) and put all my Disney stuff there. Today I made a t-shirt and packed all my clothes. I still have to pay my bills, get scrips filled and pack camera stuff. I bought a 1G card for my camera, so now I can tke 1200 pics using both cards.

I really wanted to get my house cleaned before we leave but I am running out of time. I did vacuum up the dog hair. :) My list of "to do things" is really long. I don't think I will get them all done. Today I have to work registration at the school I work at. After that I am going to go and get my port flushed. I will be so glad to be on that plane Wednesday. It seems like I have been planning this trip forever.

Here is another picture of the race.

I am a breast cancer survivor of one year now. So that’s what this celebration is all about. I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer, Stage IIIB on April 9th, 2007. This is the worst breast cancer you can get. I had four rounds of dose dense AC, 12 rounds of Taxol and Herceptin, a MRM, twice daily radiation for one month and 13 more rounds of Herceptin. It was during the radiation treatment DH said, “When this is over let’s go to Disney World.” When the 40% off Disney rooms mailer arrived, The plans began.

First where to stay? … Coronado Springs was chosen after reading the UOG and Buzz’s website.

Now why not splurge and get the Dining plan. It was fun reading all the food reviews and the Disney menu’s, trying to decide where to eat. Ok that was decided about 170 days prior to vacation. Should have called at 180 days. Le Cellier only had a 8:50 pm dinner reservation left.

Oh… as long as we are in Florida, why not go to Universal Studios, we have never been to Islands of Adventure, better add on a few more days. More research and room and tickets are booked for the Universal part of the trip.
Now just a couple of more places to visit… The Kennedy Space Center and Doug’s Aunt and cousin. I think all the plans have been made.

Just a little shopping to do prior to the trip. Shirts, shorts. sandals, bag to carry, sunblock all purchased, packed and we are ready to go.

You are more than welcome to read that section. Hope to hear from you soon.
