My $#@! cats left a #$@! DEAD Mouse in the Dining Room!!!!

My cats are usually considerate enough to leave my "presents" on the doorstep. I did have one bring in a cicada (live) one time. It was humming in his mouth. :rotfl:

I have a several pair of cheap dollar store tongs that I use for picking up my offerings. I toss everything into a plastic bag, then toss that into another plastic bag, then toss that into a covered trash can.

:rotfl2:

I'm with you. I hate mice in the house!

Our cat is worthless as a mouser, but our dog comes to the rescue every time. She's caught quite a few mice for us. Good doggie. :dog2: :dog: :dogdance: :teeth:

This reminds me of when I was visting my dad. I was sunbathing in the backyard when his cat thought she would bring me a present. She jumped on me and dropped a live snake on me. I still can't lay outside without thinking of that day. I don't think I ever moved so fast since.

When I had mice in my house my cats could have cared less it was bothering their food. :confused3

I once had this cat that my dad hated! I mean he couldn't stand my cat. So one day my mom opened the door and my cute male cat came running in side. My dad was sitting in his favorite chair. My cat proceeded to my and drop a squirrel at his feet!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My cat was offering him the squirrel to show him he wasn't worthless!! (thats what I believe anyways)

A couple of weeks ago, Reilly the beagle caught a chipmunk. The boys tried to get him to drop it, but when he did, it was way too late for little chippie. Ewwwwww. :scared:

Our wonderful cat did the same thing the other night. She left in the living room. I just happen to walk by and there it was. DH was on the phone and I calmly told him there was a dead mouse in the house. Thankfully he disposed of the remains.

All these stories (snakes, squirrels, half dead and fully dead mice) my dear friend, is why I have no cat in my life! LOL!!!! I would absolutley freak out if I was in any of these situations. Gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it! OMGosh! Why can't they just eat the whole thing and leave it at that?? ;-)

That post made me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: !!

On a sad but related note- a bunny was burrowing in our yard for the past few days and every morning we would see a deepr set of tracks but didn't know exactly why that was happening. DH was out mowing the lawn yesterday and came across 4 little and I mean little baby bunnies. Of course, by the time he went to place them somehere else 2 of the neighborhood cats took them away. Then our neighbor's dog came flying over to chase the cats. Poor Mommy bunny keeps hopping over now but there isn't anything there. :(

I felt so sad but realized that that is nature and things like that happen all the time. Oh well- didn't mean to bring the thread down but the OP's post truly was funny.

My last cat Jake had a habit of catching bunnies. He was especially fond of baby bunnies and would bring them in the house very much alive to play with. We found one in the dining room, opened the back door to help the bunny escape, and it ran out onto the deck and just kept going! By the time I got to the bottom of the stairs, it was too late for Mr. Rabbit.

The odd thing about my cat was when he did kill a bunny, he wouldn't bring the dead ones inside, he would eat them outside (thank goodness!) but he would always start with the HEAD!?! Skull & all! Ewwww!! I mean how delicious can a bunny head really be??

I don't know how tasty baby bunny heads are...but we have two cats that have sort of adopted us. They live outside and they leave me wonderous gifts every so often....and my gifts are ALWAYS headless. Headless mice, headless birds, headless moles, headless frogs, headless snakes...what is up with that??!!

I just get so grossed out but dh says I should feel honored/happy cause it's a way that cat's show they care...ahh...yeah...okay, in some other life...but in this one, dropping something dead and headless at my feet is NOT going to make me happy! ICK!

I yell and scream and carry on until dh comes to rescue me and the poor cats look so sad when we (I say we but I really mean dh for me) scoop the poor animals up and double bag them and put them in the trash...I think they want us to feast on them or something.

ISH!!

Once when I was home alone with my 4 kids. One of our cats ran by with a live mouse hanging out of it's mouth. We (while screaming) called my dbil to see if he would come over and help us chase the cat around. He and my Dsis had us on speaker phone were laughing so hard they couldn't move.We ended up finding the dead mouse under one of the kids beds. It was just disgusting

When I was little, we had a cat that would leave dead moles in the driveway. My dad has always been really good about disposing of them. My Mom and I wouldn't go anywhere near them. I'm not sure if it was because she was leaving us presents or because she wasn't quite right in the head (she survived a bad bout of encephalitus a few years before that and was never quite the same). I choose to believe she wanted to give us presents....gross though they were! ;)

The only "mice" that I care for are Mickey and Minnie.. LOL

Sure hope my DD's two declawed cats are still able to kill the little buggers or I think there's going to be BIG problems in that new house come fall..

My cat used to catch mice and things outside and never killed them - just used to play with them..

I think as long as it was not wearing Red shorts we are ok : )

Super Bowl Sunday and I'm in my room and I hear my DS (6) scream. It was a normal scream, per se... and I thought he was playing with the cat, the cat nipped him (they play hard), etc...

Then, a second most girlified blood curdling I'm about to die scream came out of that little body and I KNEW something was major wrong....

Our cat, Rajah, had been guarding a mouse that I think was behind the dishwasher in the kitchen for sometime. Well, apparently, the mouse was hungry enough ... came out.... and ran across my little guys legs.

The first scream was when he saw the mouse... the second was when the mouse touched him!!

The cat PLAYED with the mouse, wasn't trying to harm him in any way... just wanted to play with him. I finally had to whack it over the head with something to "knock it out" - put it in a box (by scooping it in - I refused to touch it) and then dump it in the garbarge!

I was appalled! I thought cats were SUPPOSED to kill mice? :confused3

I have two cats and their only access to the outdoors is an 8' x 8' enclosure accessed via a cat door in a window. This doesn't stop them from bringing in numerous mice, shrews, tree frogs and (the most terrifying) snakes. I HATE snakes. I'll take a dead/live mouse anyday over a snake dead or alive. I don't stick around long enough to find out if it's dead or alive, usually I'm out of the house in 0.03seconds screaming at my DH to remove it. I just hate not being comfortable in my own home wondering if there is a snake hiding under something. Yuck!!
