My cat Mackey has died ...

Your post made me cry. :sad1: I've lost a couple of kitties over the years and know exactly how you feel. It's so sad.

I am so sorry. We had to make the same painful decison 3 weeks ago for our cat, she was also almost 15.

It was devestating, and I am sorry you also have to go through it.

Mt 9 year old said it best the house just seems different :sad1:

again I am very sorry

I am so sorry.
Sadly, I know what you are going through. I hope you can take comfort in the knowledge that you were a wonderful Mom to him and he had a great long life.

I'm so sorry for your loss :grouphug: I know how hard it can be to lose your furbaby- I lost mine just over a year ago. It's still hard some days, nothing will ever replace her. I know it's not easy, but maybe you can take comfort in the fact that he's no longer hurting. If that doesn't help, you do have a huge resource of people willing to help in any way right at your fingertips. We're always here to listen!

Very sorry to hear about little Mackey, Laura.'s He sounds like a wonderful buddy. He had a wonderful life with you, and most recently, with Blackie also. His memories will be with you forever.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm very sorry. I know what you are going through. It is so hard.

I'm so terribly sorry. I know what it is like to take care of a senior cat with health issues and then to have to make that terrible decision.

He was a beautiful cat. Your song brought a tear to my eye. I'm sure he was glad you were there to comfort him when he needed it most. May you never forget the beautiful memories you had together.

I'm sure he's at the Rainbow Bridge right now enjoying the beautiful sunshine, butterflies and other happy healthy animals.

I'm so sorry. It's hard to say goodbye to our fur friends. I, too, have lost several kitties over the years. It's very hard to let them go after they become a piece of your heart.

May your warm and happy memories of Mackey bring you some peace and comfort in the days ahead.

Thank you all so very much for your kind words and thoughts - I really do appreciate it.

I'm so sorry  Losing pets is awful. We had one kitty that my mom got a few years before I was born. We had to put her down in 2008, at age 19. That one was really hard, especially for my mom because she had that kitty since before she even met my dad. We have a kitty who's been having kidney problems. She's about 15. She sleeps on my bed every night right next to my head, purring in my ear all night long. I can't imagine sleeping without my kitty :sad1: But her kidney problems do seem to be getting better!

So sorry for your loss!

I'm very sorry for your loss of your beautiful Mackey. My heart goes out to you.

A few years ago I lost four of my oldest dog friends in a three year span. One was 15 years old, two were 15 1/2 and the last to go was 16. At their ages, they had been around for a large part of my life. Even though I grieved badly over the loss of each one of them, I truly felt very blessed to have had them in my life for so many years. The knowledge that they'd lived such long and happy lives helped me in my grief. I hope that knowing Mackey for so many good years will give you some comfort in your grief.

As I lost my baby Simba last year after 14 years, I certainly know how you feel. May God Bless you and your family in this sad time. May Mackey rest in peace on the Rainbow Bridge with all of the other DIS pets who have passed on.

I'm so sorry Laura. :grouphug: We lost our cat, Misty, this week too. She was at least 18 years old (she was an adult stray when we got her). So sad. I understand how you are feeling.
