Really he is. I mean, I am waiting for his head to spin completely around and to see him levitating over his litterbox. I am sure if I move his collar a little to left I will see the 666 mark.

Where to begin. Luigi became possessed a month or so ago which I attributed to his coming off age, so I took him to vet and had his "meatballs" removed and also after much debate, his front claws removed. As I had posted before, he was attacking us all the time including in our sleep and scratching us up pretty badly as well as continually attacking and battering my 3 year old cat (who I adopted already neutered and declawed). Even worse, he was squatting and peeing on everyone and everything in sight. The vet said he had a mild bladder infection and gave me an antibotic for Luigi to take. It's almost two weeks now. At first, Luigi seemed more docile and accepting of Shadow, but now, ZING, back to the cat from hell with avengence. Even though he does not have front claws, he will attack your feet and bite them or he jumps into your face. If you lock him out of the bedroom, he sticks his paws under the door and rattles it all night long. Picture me, Pete, and Shadow all huddled together in bed shaking, staring wide eyed in fear at the locked door all over a 5 pound cat.

To make matters worse, Luigi has gone back to peeing everywhere. To the poster who said "I'm going to kill my dog"

I HEAR YA' SISTER! :p

If anyone on this board wouldn't be tempted to say the same thing if your cat had crawled up on you in bed and PEED all over your legs through your comforter at 3:00 am and then when you had to move to couch after throwing everything into the wash proceeded to PEE all over you and your blanket on the couch 30 minutes later then let me tell, you deserve some kind of Saint Reward. ;) I came very very very close to snagging Luigi and toss him outside into the DRIVEWAY.

I am at my wits end with this cat. We love him very much and have been putting up with his antics making sure to give him plenty of love and attention but to no avail, I don't know what to do now. He is making everyone quite miserable. :( Any suggestions?

Maybe you could start putting out some feelers to see if there is someone that would like to have him. I'm thinking that a cat like that might do better in a home where there is no 'competition' for the attention.

Yikes! That would be the final straw for me! The hunt would be on to find a suitable home ASAP!

Make you wish you knew what was going on inside thier heads.

But does not do the "P" thing! I would take him back to the Vet 'cause it sounds like the meds did not work!

My cat could be sound asleep but as soon as I put my feet over the edge of the bed, LOOK OUT! He is right there claws digging right in!

I guess now I can feel assured that my cat is only from pergatory!LOL

Good luck with him!

But you gotta admit, you can't live without them!

I can always sick Thumper on him for you!!!
Somehow I think that Thumper would come out on the losing end. My son said to me last night, "Mama, Luigi is so mean I think the dark is afraid of HIM!" :p

Nothing has changed in the house for him to "change" all of a sudden. I even have two litter boxes, one with litter and one with shredded newspaper. Ugh! I don't want to give him away. :(

Have you talked to your vet about any of this yet? Maybe he/she will have some suggestions.
Maybe DocRafiki will see this and be able to offer some insight.

Is he still on the medication? Growing up we had a cat who had constant bladder infections and would pee everywhere. Our vet said it was her way of letting us know something was wrong.

Glad to see you can keep your sense of humor though! :teeth:

I know you want to do the right thing for everyone, including Luigi. {{{Hugs}}} to you.

I think you need to do a re-check for the bladder infection. This can be a chronic problem for some cats, and it does sound to me like this poor guy might not be feeling well again.

I would have him re-checked to make sure the bladder infection is gone. Also, washing your stuff won't really help - you need to get something that removes cat urine. (From Petsmart or wherever.) Washing doesn't completely remove the scent, and he will re-pee in that spot until the scent gone.

Good luck!

Does that cat have his own litter box? If he shares a box with the other cat he may not like it and is peeing all over to prove it. Some cats prefer their own litter box. I also agree the cat should be checked out for further urinary problems.

As far as the urine thing, it doesn't sound as if he's done with the baldder infection. Maybe it's a chronic thing that needs a longer course of treatment. They also have special food for cats that is kidney/urinary system healthy...did you try changing his food to that? Cats can tend toward unrinary system problems, as I recall. The cat food bags actaully says something on it like "Urinary Health" or some such designation.

As far as the attacking behavior, if it's not a result of being uncomfortable due to the urinary problem, then perhaps some behavior modification is needed? I would talk to the vet. Maybe he/she could give you some insight.

All cats are evil. That's what I like about them.

He only has a couple of days of meds left. I even changed their food from Meow Mix to a more expensive Purina One formula. I can see a big difference in their appearance especially in the fur.

We rescued a cat like this. "Sonny" was declawed before we got him and never wanted to come out the closet. i dont htink he could defend himself against my other cats. He was really mean too. If you tried to cuddle up with him and pet him he would eventually bite you. Hard. And most of the time when you WERE petting him he looked like he was being tortured. AND he peed everywhere. All the time. On the couch, on the laundry, in the corner on the carpet. We tried and tried until I just could not think of anything else and found him a good home where he was an only cat. I always felt like he hated the other cats and this was his way of getting back at me even though they were here first.

Sometimes cats are just unhappy and they pee to show how unhappy they are. I am a believer in the fact theat sometimes you just cannot change some pets. :(

My only suggestion is to try kitty Prozac or some such. But at this point, I for one wouldn't hold it against you if you tried to find him a new home. He might be perfectly fine in a one-animal household.

We got Luigi when he was 5 weeks old. Shadow came two weeks later. I always worried that Shadow, being older and having lived with no other cats would be the problem. It's very perplexing. Sometimes Luigi will lay down next to Shadow like he doesn't have a care in the world. Shadow, of course, will not make eye contact, but will hold his ground and kind of growl at Luigi and then eventually walk off. We tend to hold our breath too because you never know when he intends to attack or wants love. Through all of this though, Luigi genuinely loves Pete. Most nights, he curls himself up around Pete's head while he is sleeping, purrs and gently cleans Pete's face and hair like he is another cat . :) Pete can even accidently roll over on Luigi in his sleep and Luigi just lets out a little cry and then repositions himself. If I try to move him away, he swats at me.

I really agonized over having him declawed, but now think it was for the best. It has really cut down on injuiries and band aids. :p

The only time I went through something like this is when my youngest DD was born. We had a cat and he adored my 2 older kids. They could literally lug him all over the house and he would never bite, scractch or even try to get away. Seeing how the kids were 1 and 2 when we got him, that's saying something!! :D Well, in 1994, my daughter was born and this cat went nuts! I guess he viewed her as a threat, someone intruding on his turff. He still adored the older kids, but I was afraid to leave him in the same room with the baby. If I carried her, he would literally attack me. Then, this cat, who never missed the litter box, started to pee on the floor....sometimes, he would go right at my feet!!!! Then, he started to do #2 on the floor, normally right next to the babies crib. :earseek: Sadly, he ran away and we never saw him again. :( Whenever my kids watch home movies and Max is in them, the older 2 will say something to my youngest, like "It's all your fault!" :(

Oh....and Thumer can easily control a 13 lb cat who literally chases dogs down the street....she could whop a 5 lb-er into shape in no time!! :teeth:
