My camera broke before we even got in the gates.

Our first day waiting in line to get in the gates I go to take a picture of my girls and I keep getting a zoom error. My camera picked that moment to break . I bought a disposable camera inside that cost $19.99 but not being able to see the pictures (digital life has spoiled me) plus I went throught the entire disposable in about 30 minutes. So I sucked it up and bought a digital at Disney .

I have only had my other camera for 6 months and it is a pricey little booger and it picked that moment to break. I was devasted

That's too bad.... I would however have gone down to target or wally world to get the replacement, I am sure you would have saved quite a bit of $.

What camera did you have that broke? And you should be able to get it fixed or replaced under warrenty regardless of brand.

Did you also make heavy use of photopass? I think I would have grabbed a photopass photog and made them follow us around.

By the way OP, I don't know if you have noticed, but your sig is cut off at the bottom, and all we can see of your girls is the hats in the picture! The new sig guidelines are doing that, cutting pictures and text off at the bottom...

That's what happened to me during my Columbus Day weekend trip. I arrived on a Friday and went to my first Halloween Treat night and could only take 4 photos before my camera stopped working. I used the photopass heavily and since I returned to DLR this weekend, I finally bought the CD yesterday. I got 139 photos. Some of them are repeated and I need to find the reason why but that's another story.

Though it was not at the front gate of the happiest place on earth, my camera did the same thing on Christmas morning...

I know that it was expensive, but I think that I would have done the same thing and bought one there as well.

I would have made a trip to another store but having 2 4 1/2 year olds dragging them away from disney on our first day would have been no easy task. I have email Olympus to see if the camera is still under warranty (it should be). I looked up the camera I bought at Disney. THe markup was $30.00 more at the park so not too drastic I guess.

That happened to me in WDW. We had just arrived at AK and were just getting off the safari ride, when blah. Camera broke. Spent well over $20 for a disposable one. I had a back up camera in the room though. But still, I wasn't going to leave the park to go get it.
