Hey everyone.
I'm going to WDW and IOA Sept 8-20 with 9 days in the parks. I'm posting this to let everyone know it can be done. I see peoples budgets sometimes and it blows my mind how expensive a trip to Central Fla can be. I had originally planned to do 2 wks in Dec, but moved it up to Sept after a particularly BAD night at work. Since I have 3 months left to save I decided to do this on the CHEAP.
It started out at 11 days but I added 2 more a few days ago. I'm going by train, leave Sept 8th at 1pm and arrive Sept 9th at 8pm. I'm staying 10 nights at the Clarion MG on 192. I'm doing 6 days at WDW, 2 at US/IOA, and 1 at SW. I leave Sept 19th at 2pm and arrive home Sept 20th at 6pm. And I do mean home. I live less than a mile from the Amtrak station. My budget so far:
Train Tix rt: $206
Hotel: $175 (my half) $350 total w/tax
US/IOA tix: $107 2 Park Power Pass AP w/blackout dates
WDW tix: $370 AP
SW tix: $50
Total: $908
The hotel is $44.40 per night with every 3rd night free, so I'm only paying for 7 nights.
As a bonus for me, I can go back 3 or 4 times over the next year for train fare and hotel. I'm already planning a short Dec Disney only trip for a couple of days onsite in a moderate and a trip the week AFTER Presidents day to do mostly US/IOA. I only do SW once a year for some reason. I might even try to sneak in a trip to BG for a day.
