Hey there, Hi there, Ho there, hope your as happy as can be!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

I'm Not :sad2:
I just read the new thread about ASMovie FAQ. Got some great info, expecially got excited over the fact they had rollaways.
I called ressie right away to try to get a king room with rollaway. After 3 different try's and 3 different CM,
Only two people are allowed in king room, ressie had no idea that rollaways were available. So I called the resort itself to ask, and they said YES they do. So I called back again, but still no doing.
Lets just say, my husband and I are EXTRA large disney fans. I we were not looking forword to sleeping in the "double" bed. As a matter of fact we had already decided someone was gonna be on the floor. (DS 13) poor baby. But I thought man with the roll away our problems would be solved. NOT
Sorry, I just had to let it go.
I'm sure the magic will return in just a little while.
Take Care

Maybe try booking through a TA other than a Disney one. Should not be a problem.

you don't have to stay onsite. there are plenty of places offsite where you can stay if you're uncomfortable in 2 double beds. :wizard:

You can only request the rollaway when you check in at the hotel. You cannot put it in as a request on the reservation

Isn't a king room only a request not a guarantee??? I'd just go with the ressie for 3 people and 2 doubles and request a rollaway when you get there..

i wouldn't count on a rollaway on your visit. bring a blow up air mattress. the reason it would be a fire hazard. there would not be enough room (fire code wise) for people to get out of the room for a roll away and king size bed. i travel with my teen for hockey and we have been placed in a king and could not get a roll away for that reason. there was no way my teen son would sleep with his mom so we got 2 doubles.

I have been told on more than one occasion (ok 2 times!) that none of the WDW resorts offer a roll away - free or for a fee. That said I can't imagine how one would fit at the value resorts!

I haven't read the FAQ's but I have been to most of the wdw resorts and have requested a rollaway exactly 2x - both times was assured no resorts offered them.

Keep in mind that a King room is only a request and won't be guaranteed. Since your reservation is for 3 people the computer will automaticly assign you a room with bedding set up for at least 3, that will be a double/double.

I am pretty sure that the CM's will have a very difficult time putting you into a king without some fancy override of the computer system - so I would count on a double/double.

I you really can't deal with the double your options would be a king with adjoining room for the child(ren) or a deluxe.

Hopefully you can figure something out that works for your family.

A personal request - any chance you can move your hi there, ho there to the bottom? As cute as it is it makes it difficult to read your posts - either way have fun planning.

And yet I've seen in a couple of sources that they are available at POR... :confused3

I've personally slept in a roll-away bed at Caribbean Beach resort and have read many threads by other people who've had them, so they definitely do exist, and are available, at least at the moderates.

we had one in October for 5 nights at $17 a night at the POP - so they are available! we didn't ask for it till we got there.

Hi - I stand corrected I am sorry - and psyched!

DH and I don't mind the double but at 8 and 10 my kids don't like to share a double, so we love a rollaway and $17.00 is sooo worth it. Thanks for the info - and very glad to be wrong. Good luck to the OP although I still don't know the likelyhood of the king request?

>>>>>>>>The last two times we stayed at the CBR we had a rollaway. Even with two double beds and the roll a way, we still had plenty of room. Try the CBR, it's a nice place with beautiful themeing. BTW we were four in the room.

This happens to be one of the resorts we were told not available at - maybe they had just run out?

I remember these rooms were very large, definately large enough for a rollaway.

I think room occupancy for the Moderate resort rooms with a king sized bed is only two (and, maybe, one child under the age of 3). So your problem is not that you can't get a rollaway, it's that you have too many people for the room. I have heard that you might be able to get a rollaway (except for DVC resorts - no rollaways ever) if you have not exceeded the room occupancy.

You cannot make reservations for a kingsize bed at a value resort.
It's just a request. So the CM cannot promise you a kingsize bed, because it's not available in the computersystem. Not even when the reservation is only for 2. At the moderate resorts you pay for your kingbed, that's why it's guaranteed. So if you really need your kingsize bed and the rollaway you have to switch to a moderate.

asked to stay at the ALL STAR resorts........so we cancelled our Port Orleans ressie and then bought a blow up bed........this worked fantastic. The room was already minus a table and chair......so we put the blow up right there.....we brought along an air hair dryer...and each night blew it up and each morning used the other side and unblew it....put it in the drawer.......the bed cost 19 dollars at walmart and we got a twin fitted sheet for 4 dollars and a top sheet we had......asked housekeeping for an extra blanket and pillow and we were ready for action....

When you call the reservation center there is no way to request a rollaway.

There are some available at the resorts but you must request them at the resort.

for 17 bucks more a night...how about a trundle at POR? How old is your son again?? Sorry if this won't work for you but I thought I'd throw it in there
