It was quite a surprise! I didn't really get along with my boss. He was nice as a person, but he was a terrible manager--no clue how to manage people without treating them like idiots. He also nitpicked everyone to death. Evidently he got tired of always disagreeing with the company's owner, so he resigned. They had been fighting off and on for quite some time, but I didn't think he would leave the company. I now have a new boss (a boss from another department) who I think will be really good and will give me some better responsibilities that will help me learn a lot more. I think this is really for the best, but change can be hard sometimes too. I don't think I've exactly decided how I feel about it just yet. Overall, I think it's a good thing, but it does have some drawbacks. Just wanted to get that off my chest. :)

I've been through that where I work now and it is interesting to deal with. I do hope though that you will work well with your new boss. I am sure though that you will do just fine. You are probably right, this is probably better over all for you. Good luck adjusting to it all :)

Sounds like a great thing for all concerned, Elisabeth. Hoping (knowing) you will do well going forward. My best. :sunny:

I hope this situation works out better for you, Elisabeth. Hopefully your exboss will find a position better suited to his temperament.

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie

Change is good, folding money is better!

Seriously, Elisabeth, I also report to a person with ZERO people skills, and that is really bad to deal with. I hope your new boss turns out better for you. I am also a supervisor (17 people report to me) but they like me, I try to treat them the way I want to be treated, and most of the time it works. And you are still very young in the workforce, so you may have many more bosses in your future, don't forget. They are all different. ANd being able to grow in your current job will allow you to be more of an asset to your company, rather than the liability that the exboss was.

Good luck.
