My Biggest Pet Peeve is....

Yeah, it's totally unrealistic to expect perfect behavior out of every single person who is in a theme park. That goes for parents and children. I sure as heck wouldn't like to think every stranger on line with me at TSM is judging how I'm talking to my kid. I'm not going to judge them!

My big pet peeve on our last trip was the angry scooter people. One lady ran over my foot (did not stop to say sorry), then she ran into a stroller almost knocking out the child in the stroller (again she kept motoring on without an apology).

My oldest son is autistic and has sensory issues. The poor kid was at the park in summer in long sleeve shirt, long pants, and hat with earmuffs. We would check in with the cast member at the line, then come back to ride. (ex: if the standby was 50 min, we checked in and came back in 50 min). The number of people who gave us dirty looks like we were cutting had NO IDEA! We waited, just not where it would send him into a meltdown.

Line cutters! We linked arms and were like Gandalf. You shall NOT pass! Of course, a single parent with one kid could....(with 5 kids, we have been there, done that!) but a group, heck no!

Smokers outside the smoking area. Yuck!

Wheelchairs and ECVs are no bother to us as we have disabled friends and family. Medicine now is a miracle! Conditions that were terminal are not or not right away.

Going tomorrow and will have a blast!

Had a couple of incidents on this past trip that really ticked me off. Just really rudeness in my opinion. People spend a lot of timing and money on a Disney trip and I think that general manners get thrown out the window sometimes.

1) Folks not moving over for my husband to ride with them as a single rider. Took three CMs to get these ladies to move over in the ride car.

2)People being rude/nasty over parade space. There are FPs now and the expectation is that you don't need to stake out a spot an hour in advance with a FP. I couldn't wait an hour for a parade spot anyway. My kid is autistic and would freak out. So, don't look at me nasty when I approach an open space next to you in the FP section for the parade. If someone is sitting there, then let me know. Otherwise, just leave us alone. This lady seriously gave me a dirty look when I approached an open space in the FP section for the parade. When I asked if it was alright if we sat there she said "just don't block me and my kids" and was nasty about it. Really?? Is it that serious. I get that we are all tired and frazzled, but don't get nasty.

eta - I think those who have issues with "leashes/harnesses" don't have "runners." My kid is a runner, has absolutely no fear once he gets going, and doesn't always respond to me when I try to stop him. I ended up having him in a stroller a lot because I couldn't trust him to walk around and didn't have a harness.

I thought it would be fun to see everyones biggest pet peeve. I have a few to start off with.
3. The astronomical increase in the numbers of motorized scooters. I realize some people need them for medical reasons but for the rest, give me a break. .

Oh my! We went in December last year and it was Crazy the amount of scooters that were there. I don't know if it was because it was Christmas or what but it was time consuming with the buses. I felt guilty for being annoyed. I realize that people need them for legit reasons, but there just seemed to be an abundance of them.

I noticed this on my trip as well. But I think what we are seeing is that the parks have become more and more accessible for people who need scooters & wheels chairs to get around so therefore more are coming to the parks.

1. Large groups that run you over (and usually nobody even says pardon me).

2. Tour groups that congregate at bottleneck places (i.e. the bottom of the UP escalator/stairs downstairs in the Land, so everyone getting off Soarin and trying to go back upstairs is blocked).

3. People with strollers the size of small cars who park them in aisles instead of pulling them to the side, so nobody can get past. For that matter, people who take giant strollers inside the small stores - park the darn thing outside and carry your kid, those little stores are not made for dozens of doublewide strollers to be inside.

4. Line cutting at rides. This didn't used to happen, but now it happens ALL the time. Entire parties (usually younger people, although we had one older couple climb the ropes outside Pirates, too), and they basically dare you to say anything to them.

5. Since FP+ went into effect and everyone's forced to do more Standby, the new "runner" is the guy who goes to hold a place in the Standby line, while the rest of his party is elsewhere, and then all 12 of them climb over the ropes and through the crowds to get to him.

6. Getting run over by strollers and scooters (often on purpose, esp the scooter people - they seem to think they have right of way anytime, anywhere). I stopped wearing anything other than tennis shoes with closed heels and toes because stroller and scooter people do not look where they are going, and run up on you - I've been bloodied by people more than once, and they just do not care what they've done.

7. The sheer number of people on scooters who are not disabled or elderly is nothing short of... well, get an exercise program going, so you can walk. You'll feel better, trust me.

8. Disney not doing enough to eject day guests when hard ticketed events start. Yeah, Disney checks bands to keep them out of the shops and stores, but they all camp the sidewalks and center castle court for free parade and fireworks shows.

9. Disney deciding it was OK to cram 3 adults into Doombuggies. Yes, this happened to us. 2 guys over 6 feet tall and me (I'm 5'9"). This did not work well. We were draped in each others laps and had shoulders and legs hanging out both sides of the car. (We are not pooh sized, but my 6+ foot tall guys are far too wide-shouldered to be crammed into a buggy with a third adult. This should never be done unless 1 of the 3 people is a child.)

10. MyMagic+.

11. Hotel rates on property being 2x to 6x what they should be for the star quality of the room and resort.

12. People videotaping (with bright light) and taking flash pictures in the dark rides.

1. people who use strollers as people-pushers (especially with kids in them). but hey, if you don't care about your kid, I'm not caring about your kid.... whatever happens, happens.
2. parade pushers: it doesn't matter if I've been standing in this space for two hours or two minutes.
3. I-Pad videographers: if you don't put that thing down! it's in the way! and yes, I will tell you to put it down because I can't see.
4. complainers: ain't nothing right to them and complain about the small stuff, trying to justify it by saying how much money they spent. probably hoping they'll get some compensation. disney not having any almond croissants will not ruin your vacation for ever and ever. if it's that deep, bring your own, or don't come!
5. honey boo-boo: parents trying to cram their overgrown girl in a princess costume because she wants one. uhhhh- she's too big and it doesn't fit so she looks ridiculous! lol!

I'm sure I have more, I just can't think of any right now
