Happy Anniversary to Me! Happy Anniversary to Me! Happy Anniversary, Happy Anniversary, Happy Anniversary to Me (Oh, and to you too Scott.)

Today we celebrate our BIG DAY. This anniversary is really important to me. It's a milestone. I was quite young (19) when I married and took a lot of flack from almost everyone around me. My parents, his parents, alll of our friends. Our rehersal dinner was more like a funeral than a celebration. The Best Man was still trying to talk Scott out of it IN THE VESTIBULE OF THE CHURCH!!! Nobody thought it would last. The bride was too young, too immature, too spoiled. Well, everyone forgot one thing. I married Prince Charming.

Scott really is just the most wonderful person. He loves me and the kids so much. He puts up with my sloppy housekeeping and aversion to the kitchen. Even though he's happiest at home he has let me drag him all over the world. He works so hard to provide for us. He pampers me and spoils me and makes me feel like the most special woman on earth. I mean it. This man would do anything for the kids and me. I am very, very lucky.

Okay, enough of that. Just had to get it off my chest.

Since today is our BIG DAY I give Scott a break and let him sleep in. We need it. We spent most of last night playing musical beds. (It's okay this is a G-rated game.) I found out that even if you spent the first 4 years of your marriage sharing a double bed it doesn't mean you can do so now. I should have shelled out the extra $$ for a king room. There's just too much of us and not enough bed these days. :D We'll each have our own bed for the rest of our stay at POFQ.

I don't know why it is but Scott and I have a deep-seeded need to visit the local Wal Mart in every city we visit. (I case you ever wondered there are no Wal Marts in Manhattan.) I can make list after list and spend a week packing. We'll still forget something. (On a side note I personally think that E Tickets for air travel are one of the greatest inventions of all time. Right up there with the moveable-type printing press and air conditioning.) This time it's Scott's little flashlight thingy that straps onto his head. (I'm not making this up, I swear.) Scott's a night owl, I'm not. He uses his little miner's light to read in bed at night when we travel. No little miner's light was part of last night's problem. Overall, I was very, very pleased with POFQ but their bedside lights leave a lot to be desired. For one thing, they're not bedside. They're overhead. For another ours seem to be fitted with 500 watt bulbs. You could perform brain surgery under those babies. So it's off to Wal Mart for us.

Wal Mart doesn't let Scott down. He buys his flashllight thingy and we're all set to go. It's Scott's anniversary too so we make a little side trip to Camping World so he can feel up the propane tank valves and sewer hoses.

Lunch time! A chance to use another one of our nifty Q&C vouchers. Today we're going to give Beaches and Cream a whirl. We split the bacon double cheeseburger, onion rings and a banana split. I thought it was really good and a great deal for $11.50. We got to get another good look at the Beach Club pool while we were at it. It looks even niftier by daylight.

This is our MGM day. I'm hoping that it won't be too crowded since today's the day after EMH. I'm also hoping that the Christmas/New Years crowds have all gone home.

Okay, what are all you Christmas people doing still here? :crowded: Don't you have jobs or something to get back to? MGM is packed with people. Turn up the thermostat 20 degress and it could be any day in June. I'm really glad the kids aren't here. They are thrill ride and WWTBAM junkies. That would have pretty much eaten up our whole afternoon. With just the two of us we are able to see pretty much everything we came for.

1. Beauty and the Beast: Love this show! I like musicals of any sort and B&B is my absolute favoritest Disney movie ever. When the movie came out I went to see it at least once a week. Made Lizzie go with me so I wouldn't look like such a dork. What me see a cartoon 15 times in one summer? Don't be ridiculous! It's the kid. She's making me go. I wanted to stay home and clean out the freezer.

Great performance. Best Belle yet. Last night Eric told me that the singers are members of the stage actors union and get paid the big bucks. It shows. I cried at the end. We get to sit next to a young family with two princesses. One Cinderella, one Belle. Why, why, why did my kids have to grow up, get cool and leave me behind? No fair.

2. Rock-n-Rollercoaster: Used a FP. The standby line was mammoth. Not the same since the kids told me that Steve Tyler is making a very rude gesture duing the pre-show. There's some things I just don't want to know. He's too old to act like that. Too bad, because this is one of the very few rollercoasters that doesn't make Scott ill.

3. Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Used a FP. (I ran all over the park like a crazy person getting FPs. It was just too crowded to see stuff any other way.) Another good show. Ariel's voice is not as good as Belle's but she's more of a babe so Scott's happy. (Another pointless aside: Was there ever a time when you could see Ariel's belly button? Scott swears there was. And what was he doing looking at her belly button I'd like to know? As far as I knew Scott doesn't approve of exposed belly buttons. He almost had a coronary when Lizzie got hers pierced. Liz is a good kid. It's just that she has this dancer's body and wants to make good and sure that everyone has the chance to get a good look at it.)

Three attractions take up most of the afternoon. We could probably have done a bit more but it was just too crowded for us.

Back home to POFQ. It's really warm today and we are able get in some sleeping by the pool time before the sun starts going down. We need to be well rested. We have a late night tonight.

Love your trip reports. Your husband sounds a lot like mine, we spend quite
alot of time in wallyworld, and in the outdoor section trying to figure out
what he needs next.

You made me cry when you talked about the family with two little princess' and why did your kids have to grow up. My kids are still small, but time is flying by and I know I will be saying the same thing in a short while! Thanks for sharing!!

I'm really getting the education reading your reports. What is Steven Tyler doing in the preshow? I've never noticed it.

Another great report!! Love the feely thing with the propane tanks and sewer hoses :rotfl: :rotfl:

I am loving your reports..........DH and I will be celebrating OUR 25th next year. Won't be taking such a wonderful trip as yourself, so I am truely enjoying your trip adventure. Yes, I too have teens, DD19 and DS17.
By July '05 they will be DD20 and DS18. Keep the reports coming. You are quite talented with your words.

Too vulgar for the DIS. It may not be true. My kids have been known to pull a fast one on their nerdy mother in the past. All I can tell you is that it's the part when Steven Tyler puts his hand to his forehead as he gets his great idea to bring you along to the concert.

Happy Anniversary! Thanks for the reports thus far, I can't wait to read more!
