My best friend broke up with me today....

all over some Facebook stuff..

Without posting all the nitty-gritty details, basically there was a FB post, and things got heated. My friend let people basically insult DH and I without even saying anything....I walked away from the post, and was just gonna let it all go...well today, she is no longer a FB friend, and my email is going unanswered..

I am so bummed right now...we have been friends for over 10yrs...the people who's "side" I assume she is taking, are people from a message board, and from my understanding, has never even seen them face to face. I guess I know where I rank..

I am just really bummed and hope this blows over...I confided in her for everything, and knowing she is gone is hurting me deeply...and I dont know how to handle it...I am just so sad...

Really? I love it. My relatives use it to share family pictures-I see WAY more stuff than was ever shared (before) in emails. Having family spread all over-its kept a connection with us/ I love it

Oh I'm sorry I too am in the camp of hating FB...yes I know a lot of people love it but even though I have a computer obviously and use email the real communication for me will always be face to face or at least a phone call..if she is really a friend to you then it will work out...

Probably the DIS is a much bigger message board than her message board. We are like #25 on the list of largest/busiest Internet forums. So you have way more friends who back you up HERE!

So sorry this has happened. I had something similar happen to me a few years ago and it does hurt. Maybe after a few days she'll come around.

It's because of things like this I have been hesitant about getting a FB. Things can be taken the wrong way so easily in text, posting, typing, etc.

Well you have your DH and you and I have discovered how close we live to each other, we can meet for coffee soon if you like or you can come meet the horse like you said you wanted to, nothing better than burying your face in a horses neck right but until than go hug those puppies of yours....the world didn't end its just moving in a different and possibly better direction. it will be okay..promise ...we have all been through this in one way or another

Sorry for the drama going on. But, honestly (yet maybe harshly) you are better off without her. Going in different directions? Who the heck says that to someone else, let alone at age 40?! Yeah, her direction is down, and not south.

Find people that have similar interests. You will be surprised at the number of amazing people that are out there just looking for a good friend.

The bolded struck me as funny because that stuff goes on around here all the time.
People are always doing whatever people around here tell them to do. Dump your husband. Break off with that friend. Go talk to the principal. Demand this or that.

Its like no one can make their own decisions anymore. They have to do whatever strangers tell them to do. About everything.

I'm so sorry you are going through this! My best friend broke up with me when we moved away, she never returned my calls or emails and right up to the day we moved I spent at least 4 hours a day with her! I was so depressed, moving to a new state, knowing no one and she wouldn't talk to me. She finally did, here and there, but she replaced me and she told me that! I've moved back and the woman she replaced me with moved away! She told me she'd be calling me, she missed and needed me, that was almost 3 months ago. I'm like you, I don't have alot of friends, it was just her really.
