Well, we went to WDW for our tour today, arriving around 3. We were supposed to be on the 4:30 tour with complimentary park tix due to the issues we had last trip (if anyone read and remembers...it was the WORST trip ever!)

Well, today (yesterday technically...it's after 5 a.m.!) beat that day with a stick. To death!

Everything went PERFECTLY. Down to every little detail (except for my undercooked churros...but I'll let that one slide). We got there in time and found that only one other couple was on our tour! They were a little older than us, VMK freaks, and very cool people. The woman and I had a lot in common, and had a great time chatting. Our tour guide, Jeff (Jeffrey on name tag) was AMAZING. There is only one more tour day, which is next Friday the 23rd, so if anyone is going on it, I sincerely hope you get Jeff. If so, tell him the geeky girl with the red pigtails, pooh ears, and "I heart nerds" T shirt from last Saturday says 'hi'. He may not remember my name, but I doubt he would forget my peronality (I'm a loud weirdo)! LOL. Anyway....he was funny in a sarcastic way, told us lots of cool info, and got us very pumped up about the tour. He had us yelling and clapping in VMK central before the tour, while we got strange looks from people in there that probably had no idea what VMK is. We rode three rides (went right to the front): Pirates (for the quest), Jungle Cruise (we had our own boat, and he took over as skipper, giving us fun facts and asking questions for prizes instead of the usual spiel), and Big Thunder Mt. RR.

I think there were supposed to be 8 people on the tour and not 4, so he had extra cards for everyone. He got all the cards he could and gave them out like mad. After the tour, he even went to go get the last of the HM tour cards (the HM tour is of course over) to give to us! Two each! Even when people got questions wrong or didn't answer, he gave us cards anyway. We learned lots of great stuff (did you know that the Magic Kingdom's MONTHLY electric bill is usually around 13 MILLION dollars???) and got to go backstage to get into Pirates. Not much to see there, and I can't tell you what we saw anyway (park secrets!) There were several cast members back there and I made a joke about taking pictures and they reacted like I had said the word "bomb" in an airport! I had to quickly tell them I was KIDDING!!!

He even gave us the Holiday quest cards, even though we had already turned in the quest and gotten them earlier, he just gave us whatever cards he could find.

The rest of the day was great, we had the best spot for the fireworks (The Noodle eatery in Tomorrowland, right at the rail) and Tinkerbell flew right over our heads! I got a pic, I hope it comes out. Everywhere I went that had VMK cards, I gave them puppy dog eyes and said we couldn't afford to buy anything but could we please have the card? They all said yes. And on Buzz, we bought the pic and I asked for a few extra cards for my friends. The girl working there said that no one ever asks for them, and they have them all over the place behind the counter. She gave us....well, I'm going to say that it was more than 2 and less than 200 Wanted Poster cards. But the amount made my jaw drop and I could not stop smiling in joy and amazement all the way to the monorail!

We got the vmk names and emails of our friends we made on the tour, so we can hang out in the game. They are from my home state! We got to wear the cool pins that I have in my sig now (I changed the name with MS paint to Miakoda from my real one....my real identity is a secret! I'm somewhat of a celebrity so I can't say ;))

Well, it was just the best day ever. We came home and started sorting and trading all our cards. I think I have enough good stuff that is no longer available (or VERY soon will not be...at least 2 of each), that I may be able to trade it for inferno, so I can have it back! I miss my little "Inferny" (that was his name) :'(

I also want to make sure everyone checks out my awesome offer for inferno on the trade board http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=981262, and my thread offering black mickey ears (and MAYBE a seagull hat...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=981263.

And one more thing...we have an extra Insider Tour card that can be used for two people, so if anyone can go to WDW next Friday (the VERY LAST day of tour, may I remind you?) I can offer to send it to you if you don't have the coupon.

Thanks for reading my story. I can't wait to get all my new rooms set up with all my cool stuff! I am so excited!

Hope you had a good day Mia! That must of been lovely going around on the tour! I wish I could of gone!!

Btw, Seen Stitch yet?

I wish I would have been brave enough back in Sep. when we went to ask for free or extra cards. I wasn't able to fork over money for the pic to get the wanted poster. Fortunately I finally found someone to trade with to get a couple. Anyway, sounds like an awesome trip! Just hope they decide to bring back the tour when we go back in April.

Wow,sounds like a perfect day! :goodvibes Glad you were VMK spoiled on the tour, it was really nice of your guide to be so generous.

Sounds like this really made up for the last experience. Glad to hear you had such a wonderful time!

you are so lucky!! man i wish that was me on that tour. i need all the rooms and everything (especially the items) cause i am so poor :earboy2:

well i am so glad you had a GREAT day and it had killed your old one :rotfl:

Wow! Sounds like you had such a great time. I'm happy for you. Are they shutting the tours down for good or just for the holidays. I'm going to WDW in April and would love to take the tour. I probably missed a post or two along the way that answers that question.

Woot!!! Glad this trip made up for the last one. Mia is going to be one busy lady filling up her new rooms. :)

WOW sounds like you really racked up!

Glad this time was a better expierence than last....

Sounds like a lot of fun! :) This tour will forever remind me of the Key to the Kingdoms Tour (best in WDW IMHO) because it does steal a few ideas from it. I am glad they did the VMK Tours though. They are great.

WOW!! Sounds like you had a really great day.

I wish we would have had Jeff when we took the tour in November. We had Ryan, he was nice but a little stingy with the cards. I had asked about the HM tour cards and was told they are not doing that tour any longer - period.
I also asked if there would be any way to get the HM room and I was told NO.

Sounds like you had a great time!
And that you had a great guide.

I'm happy that it turned out lots better than the last time. :flower:

What a fun day you had!! Yay for you. Glad it all worked out perfect this time.
That is how it should be everyday for guests....

Mia,

Sounds like that trip more than made up for the other one you took before and then some lol...

glad you enjoyed yourself...

Mia - that is great - we were there for Jeff's 12:30 tour and I agree he was awesome. We had a mixed group - but my DD and I and another Dad and two kids were the most into it. Obviously the 3 kids kind of led the way with him - and he was great. My DD is VERY chatty, comical and has lots of energy - so she kept him on his toes. We too did POC - got to go in the back way, and had our own JC boat. Some of the other folks didn't care to go on BTM, so he gave those of us that did a FastPass for after the tour that allowed us to just walk right up - not have to wait for a specific time. Tara loves that ride, and I am not so much into it - so she rode with the other family - who had not ridden it be for! We went on the HM after that and I have NEVER had t wait in a line like we did - they had us packed in the hallway leading up to the buggys like sardines - it was actually a very uncomfortable experience as at that part there is not line - just mass people being smushed together!!! That was the only down side of the day..... even with the not so wonderful weather.

Tara and the other girl traded email and phone addresses - it was nice that she made a VMK friend.

I'm glad you had a great day too - it must have been something in the air! I want to send a letter about Jeff -he was outstanding, but I didn't have time to get up to City Hall to leave a commendation.

Anyway - it was as great time - Tara said it was the best day ever at Disney....

Oh cool, you got on the tour!

Jeff was my guide, too. I thought the tour was just ok, but Jeff was fun.
He was my riding buddy on BTMRR. LOL.

I was a little upset that on the JC, I got one card, as I was by myself,
and the other group of four got the rest. (Only the one little girl played, so
she made out like a bandit!) The upside was that my one and only card
was the Safari Lifestyle Collection.

Maybe I'm jaded, but I've been on WDW tours that I've liked better. But those
were tours I paid for. This tour wasn't bad for a free tour. ;)

I wish I could have gone! I've been trying to convice friends and family to take a trip to WDW. My mom thinks I'm to OLD for Disney. To OLD for Disney? :rotfl2:
Oh well... One day I will go back!

Good thing you did not have Steve as your tour guide! He would have had a cow over you swapping VMK names!!!!

So GLAD you had an awesome VMK day this time! WOW! You really made out like a bandit!!!!
