I just found this forum by accident...

My aunt has been fighting a hard battle with cancer over the past 2 years - she was diagnosed so young at 46 with colon cancer, and it spread, despite massive amounts of radiation and surgeries. Today she went to our Lord in heaven - she leaves behind my uncle, and my cousins, who are so young to lose their mom (22 and 15). We all loved her very much and know that she is now in Heaven with our Lord -and thank God that she is not suffering anymore...

We have spent the past 6 days in palliative care at the hospital -the hardest thing I've ever had to do as she was in pain, and so spending hours upon hours at the hospital each day, made me feel so helpless, as there was nothing I could do to take her pain away. We were able to say our goodbyes and show her how much we loved her though, and this will always be a special memory that I hold dear.

To all of those who have lost someone to the monster we know as cancer, my thoughts and prayers are with you, and to any of you who are reading, if you could spare a prayer during this busy time with your families, I would so appreciate it.

Lastly, my aunt was the biggest Disney lover, and so next time you are making special memories with your families at Disney, please think of my aunt. Cherish those memories with your loved ones...

Sending :grouphug: your way. I lost my godmother to lung cancer 2 weeks ago. I will always remember her being with me on my first trip to Disney World.

My sincerest condolences on the loss of your Aunt. I hope you can remember the good times (i.e., first Disney trip) and celebrate her life.

I am so sorry to hear of your beloved aunt and her losing her battle with Cancer. She was so young too, and with the holidays and all....

One of my aunts I proclaimed my "favorite relative" and she was more like an older best friend to me than an Aunt. I miss her every day (she died about 7 years ago) and i'm sure like your aunt she knows how special your relationship was.

May she rest in peace and may you find the strength over the next few weeks.

I'm sorry about your aunt. You're correct in that 46 is too young for this!! I honestly think that colon cancer screening should start at age 40. I just know a good number of people who have been affected by this disease in there 40s.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I see what the treatments are doing to my mom now. My bil is not doing well with melanoma.

Cancer is horrible.

Sending you prayers and deepest sympathy in the loss of your Aunt. I pray that all the special memories you have will be something you will cherish always in your hearts. I am sure it hurt your heart to see your aunt in such pain but I know she knew how much you loved her. I am battling cancer myself and I know its such a hard disease.
