My Backyard is Like Wild Kingdom!

We have a resident mockingbird who apparently has taken a bride. Eventually an old boyfriend showed up this morning because, for the past 20 minutes or so, hubby and the EX have been having a battle.

I went out and stood right in the middle of it and was totally ignored. Really amazing and it's still going on. The same thing happened last year several times.

Both hubby and the new wife are trying to drive off the new bird. If last year is any indication, they will finally succeed and he'll realize he's been looking for love in all the wrong places.

Sounds like you're living in a soap opera world! Ah, yes-in spring, bird's thoughts turn to ***. Last night we had a big flapping duck war in the creek in back of our house. Two male ducks fighting over the female who was floating nearby cheering them on. Good thing we weren't trying to sleep!
