My Baby Girl Is Turning 13-Time For Another Mom/Daughter WDW Trip!!

happy mother's day!!

Happy Mother's Day, Cammie! :)

Aw, those costumes are so cute. In my jazz dance for recital 2006, we did Grease. (I still have the poodle skirt!)

To all of the DisMommies out there!!

Happy Mother's Day, Cammie!

I know it's pretty pathetic that I'm JUST replying back to all of you but I did want to thank you for your Mother's Day wishes. Better later than never, right? ;)

Hey. I've been lurking around your report while procrastinating from school work. I'm so jealous of your daughter that you took her on a trip together and that she is going to see and meeting the Jonas Brothers! My mom took me on her business trip to Disney probably about ten years ago, and I still remember it today. Your trip sounds amazing. You are a great mom. Happy Mother's Day!

Welcome aboard! I'm glad you came about of lurkdom! Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope these trips with Lauren will leave her with fond memories also. And I hope to be able to do them for many more years to come! As for the Jonas Brothers concert - I may start a pre-trip report for our family trip in December and I will be sure to be posting all of the details and pix on that!

Too cute! My son was actually in his school's production of Grease 6 years ago. He was in 5th grade and 10! He'll kill me if he finds out I posted this pic but... He's the T-bird on the left.

Dsc01206.jpg

Sooo cute! Is he still into theater? I really had to push Lauren to try out because she was nervous to perform on a stage but once she got out there, she LOVED it!

Lovin all the Grease pics! Ally loves the movie (just have to edit out a couple of parts for her sweet little naive 8 year old ears and eyes!) and also one of my faves!

I saw the movie when it first came out in the theaters. Loved it too!

Hey, I did Grease a few years ago, but it was a high school production. Lots of fun. Your daughter looks cute in her costume :)

It must be so exciting to meet the Jonas Brothers! Idc about them, but I just think about how much I would have loved to meet Hanson back in the day. They're basically the same.

I can't wait for your next update. I want to go on a trip just me and my mom one day.

Grease seems to be a very popular show around here.;) And yes, Lauren will be VERY excited about meeting the Jonas Brothers. I just hope she can keep it together.

DD sang a Taylor Swift song called "Love Song" and she did great! Last year, she sang "Bubbly" by Colbie Calliet and she did great with that one as well.

Congrats to Lauren on her success in "Grease!" Gotta love those 50s outfits!

Yep, one week from today we'll be sporting the lime green t-shirts and sipping Grand Marnier slushies! Can't wait!

Hi Alan! I know you're still in Disney but I just wanted to say I had so much fun at our meet!

I love Lauren's costume! It looks like they had lots of fun.

Actually Lauren's costume is a Halloween costume that me and the girls wore one year - so that means both me and Amanda have one also. Glad I got more use out of it.

Cute pic Cammie!

Thanks Tammie!

Lauren looked adorable in her Grease costume. How fun!

Thanks!:goodvibes She had a blast!

Good job on not blabbing so far! :thumbsup2 I can't imagine how tough this is gonna be. Hopefully you can stay busy throughout June to make it go by faster and give you something to chat about!!!

Love the Grease pic!

I still haven't blabbed! (Yay me!) And the concert is July 17th so I have to keep my big mouth shut until then.

Welcdme home Cammie! Still here!:surfweb:

Hey Tammie! Thanks for sticking with me. This trip seems like it was sooo long ago already!

I know what you mean about the warm weather! It's hard for me too, every night we come home and stay outside until it's Henry's bedtime (otherwise all we'd hear is "side" "side" "side" from him!). It's hard to keep up on the DIS!

Take the time you need, enjoy your family and the weather, we'll be here!

And WELCOME BACK, glad to hear it was a great time! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Thanks Brook. It's been so hard to find the hour or so to commit to the next installment. I really need to finish though. I have enough "incomplete" things in my life; don't want to add this tr to that long list!

Of COURSE we still care! Looking forward to the conclusion here as well as your most recent adventures! :goodvibes

Oh thank you! I'm working on the next installment NOW!

Hi Cammie!! :wave2:

My DVC Planner came today!! pixiedust:

Your family picture is fantastic!! (pg. 139)

Wow! Lauren looks so young! They grow so fast!

Kathy

Aaaah! No way! I haven't gotten mine yet! I can't wait to see it!

The picture is from around 2005. I can't believe Disney held onto it that long! Thanks for letting me know about it, Kathy!

Ok, don't fall over people! New installment is here!

When I last left off about a bazillion years ago, Lauren and I had left MK and were headed back to the BW for our last night in Epcot. We had dinner ADRs in Canada at LeCellier - a tradition of ours. We ALWAYS have our last night dinner there! YUM!

I took some pix on the walk over to the International Gateway:

As we went through the turnstiles, who do we see standing on the other side but Peter Pan. He was just standing there, talking to what appeared to be a CM, but not a "handler". No one was going near him though.

DSC04422.jpg

As we walked by, I continued to stare. Peter looked over at us and I asked if we could get a picture because it was Lauren's birthday. He said "sure" even though, he explained to Lauren that he doesn't really celebrate birthdays because he doesn't ever want to get old.(me too, Peter. Me too) :goodvibes

DSC04424.jpg

We continued on our merry way and were now faced with the age-old question when one enters Epcot through IG: stay straight and head into UK for a pint; or hop over the bridge to France for a slushie! Well since I had yet to have a slushie, AND it was our last night, guess which way we went?

DSC04429.jpg

Me thinks that looks like the beverage cart in France!

AND I decided to try - for the very first time - the Grand Marnier Slushie!

DSC04425.jpg

Sooo good! I adore Grand Marnier so I'm not surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did. I now can say that I definitely give BOTH slushies in France TWO thumbs up!

As I enjoyed my drink, we put the photopass photog. to work. And, yes, Lauren and I are dressed alike. Again.

DSC04428.jpg

At this point, Lauren held on to camera so I wouldn't spill slushie all over it. She decided to take some pix and I promised to post them:

Next stop? Germany so my baby girl could get her last German pretzel for this trip. We decided to head back over the bridge and go through the UK and so on. On the way, we saw another Photopass photog. standing all by her lonesome. I really wasn't sure what she was posing in front of; but she told me that shot is set up to capture the Italy pavillion. Not a clear shot, if you ask me. Whatever. I won't pass up a photo op.

DSC04437.jpg

Moved on to Mexico and saw Donald Duck. When Lauren got up there, he noticed her birthday button and then led the crowd in a chorus of Happy Birthday!

DSC04446.jpg

Another embarassing birthday moment. Love it.

More with Donald:

Awww, lovely photos Cammie!! :)

I hope we get to see Sombero Donald!!! Sooo cute! :cutie:

CONTINUED FROM LAST POST..........

Now onto Germany:

Someone seems to be up to some funny business:

Finally, Lauren reaches the Holy Grail:

DSC04441.jpg

I was ready for another beverage and decided to try this little frozen delight:

DSC04445.jpg

It was pretty good - made with some type of blackberry liqueur.

I forgot to mention that we had stopped at the KimPossible kiosk and had gotten a new assignment - in Norway. We headed back in that direction and completed our mission. I will say I found Norway to be the most unexciting mission. Alot of the clues were in the same area and didn't require much walking through the pavillion. But it was another one we checked off our list.

We turned in our transponder and then got another assignment:

DSC04439.jpg

Now, I don't know where the picture fits in but Lauren still has her pretzel so it's obviously AFTER Germany. Anyway....

My lame attempt at trick photography (was trying to make it look like she's holding the ball):

DSC04440.jpg

Mexico! YAY! Can't visit Mexico without taking these shots:

DSC04449.jpg

DSC04450.jpg

And you can't visit Mexico without getting one of these:

DSC04438.jpg

I grabbed my drink and we headed indoors to help Kim Possible save the world:

And, of course, we can't visit Mexico without hopping on the ride:
DSC04452.jpg

We completed our mission and realized it was time to head over to LeCellier for dinner. It was dusk and the Mexican pavillion looked so pretty lit up!

Up next - a delicious dinner and another birthday humiliation!

Your pictures of the Boardwalk and Epcot WS are so vivid... I really felt like I was there! (Well, almost.)

I can't wait to hear the girls' reaction to seeing themselves in the DVC planner!!

Kathy

Now that drink looks good to me! Yum!

Cammie, I'm looking for a new park bag... what bag is that and how did you like it??

...Birthday humiliation....heh-heh-heh!! :cake:

Kathy

The bag is the Overland Donner bag and I LOVE it! I can pack ALOT in there and it has two compartments on the outside for water bottles. I got mine at REI outlet. Check out their website; sometimes they are on sale.

And I'm really excited to see our pic too! :hyper:

Great, booze-filled installment!:thumbsup2 Welcome back!

Booze-filled - gah! I noticed reading back that I did have a couple of those frozen treats that night, didn't I?;)

DSC04425.jpg

DSC04445.jpg

I had no idea you could purchase these
I only knew about the margarita's.

Did Lauren have to find a wagon, to wheel you out of Epcot?

Cammie! So excited about the update!:cool1: You have the timing of touring and slushy ordering down to an art! :rotfl2: I'm looking forward to your Le Cellier dinner - I think I'll put it on the list for next time for sure!

HaHa, you two! But did you not read that we helped Kim Possible save the world TWICE this evening - in TWO different countries?

All that "saving the world" stuff makes a girl thirsty!;)

And Marisa - that blackberry frozen drink was from Germany. I think they switch them around though. We were just there last weekend and the frozen drink was some type of cherry lemonade slushie. Kara got it and said it was very good.

Kathy

I still haven't gotten our planner!:sad2: But my sister just got hers yesterday and was all excited to see our pic.

I can't wait to get mine! :hyper:

So THAT'S what Epcot looks like in the sunshine.....;) Love the hat pics- and I love that Donald had everyone singing to Lauren!!!

By the way, I got my planner yesterday- it is a FABULOUS shot!! So cool!!:thumbsup2:cool1:

Thanks for the virtual trip to World Showcase this afternoon! Just what the Dr. ordered! What fun!! I really can't wait to try the Kim Possible adventure.

Forgive me if I missed it but have you posted the picture from the vacation planner? I'm not a DVC member (yet :rolleyes1) but would love to see it!

No, this was his only time acting. He had a couple of friends in the play so I guess they convinced him to do it. He does play in his school's steel drum band. He loves that. The steel drums and the marching band from his school actually performed in the Magic Kingdom this past Nov.

Wow Cammie! Did you eat while you were walking around the WS?;) Glad that you finally had the GM Slush. I'm going to try the lemon in Sept. Can't wait to hear more!!!

No, I haven't posted a pic yet because I'm STILL waiting for my planner to arrive. Don't worry - once I get it; I'll scan the pix and post it here. Hopefully it will arrive this week.

I've always told Lauren I wanted her to be involved in some type of "art". She did play violin for three years but when she got to Middle School, she was really drawn to the drama club. Did stage crew first; and has now caught the acting bug.

LOL. Yes, I had a giant pretzel from Germany. I must admit, the frozen drink from Germany wasn't potent at all. Very sweet though but not strong.

I started out TR this morning! So come over and post away, Miss Cammie!:yay:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2185796

See you there!!

Crap - I noticed. I need to try and finish up this one though too!:headache:

Woah! Sorry I'm late! Looks like a good day!

I can't believe you haven't blabbed about the meet-up! I mean, I would be screaming about it!
