My Baby Girl Is Turning 13-Time For Another Mom/Daughter WDW Trip!!

Food looks so yummy.... and so does the margarita (and I'm not a rita person.)

That walk around Crescent Lake is so lovely, especially in the evening! :cloud9:

I'm so glad you liked SSR, it gets kind of a bad rap usually. Now, on to the Boardwalk!!!

Kathy

(and oh yeah guys - thanks for making me feel like an even bigger baby by pointing out the small children who go on it!)

Not the intent at all...on the first day of our first trip I was terrified of getting on TOT...after much ribbing from my kids I finally decided if the kids could do it I could too (I was 39 at the time). Needless to say I had a blast and have been hooked on TOT and the other thrill rides ever since.

this is a great trip report!! i really cant wait to check out the rest! it makes me want to go to WDW for my birthday so i can get two deserts! :woohoo:

it looks like you two are having a blast! i, too, am a jonas brothers fan .. and a bit embarrassed to admit it (coz im 27! lol) i took my cousin to the 3-d movie and had a rockin time. i love all your pictures .. especially the ones of food

Love the Yachtsman. We ate there in Dec. of '07. They seated us in a room off to the side that was sort of seperate but open so you still saw the rest of the restaurant. There was my son and I, an empty small table and a larger table with 3 adults(a woman facing me and 2 men with their backs to me) and about 6 kids. As we were eating I kept thinking that woman looks familiar. Well at one point one of the men goes to take some of the kids to the restroom and when he comes back and I see his face I realize who these people are. It was Kirk Cameron and his wife Chelsea Noble and family. I was all excited to see a celebrity. My 16 year of course head no clue who they were.

My MIL rides EE. My mother (66) would too but she has some back problems so she can't. Just sayin' :thumbsup2

Cammie, thanks for all the great pictures at the Yachtsman, we are trying it for the very 1st time this June! Can't wait:cool1: Lauren is so adorable and I LOVED the personalized menu and dessert, how cool!:thumbsup2

It. Will. Be. Fun.

Yay. Dis. Pressure. !!!!!!:dance3: :woohoo:

But really - who will hold the drinks?:confused3

SSR did grow on me after a day or two. It was very pretty and quiet over there. It certainly is a change of pace from the Boardwalk.

Oh don't even get me started on ToT! I can say - without a doubt - that I will NEVER ride that thing!:scared:

Thanks for joining in! And hey - if you can't have two desserts for your birthday - when can you? It was always fun to see what the surprise birthday dessert would be!

(don't be embarassed to like the Jonas Brothers; I'm cough*44*cough & I like them! And my girls and I enjoyed the 3D movie as well!)

OMG - Kirk Cameron! I would have died! He and his wife are gorgeous - they must have gorgeous children. The only celebrity spotting I've had at WDW was Drew Carey in the GF lobby. Drew is funny and all but he's no Kirk Cameron!

Thanks for that little tidbit of information (and added pressure!):rolleyes1

You're welcome!:goodvibes I hope you love it as much as we did!

Listen up, chicken little- we can down the drinks, then ride the ride, then get NEW drinks. TA DA!!! Problem solved!!!;)

Okay Cammie - one Chicken to another ... :lmao:

Holding the drinks is VERY IMPORTANT work, but you MUST ride 1 ride outside your comfort zone. I'd so do it with you if I were there. BUT just look at the people coming off the rides and say, "NO ONE DIED. I WILL NOT DIE". :rotfl2:

AND it has to be one that does the photo, cause I wanna see! :thumbsup2

NOT IT!!! I called it! As in, I'm not cleaning up after her if she drinks first THEN rides!!!! :rotfl2:

Mm, the Yachtsman looks good!

It was VERY good! And more is a'coming!;)

I guess there is NO getting out of this, is there?

We awoke Wednesday morning to another glorious day in WDW - sunny and warm. Very warm. It was supposed to go up to 85 this day and we had planned to go to Animal Kingdom. But from past experiences, we've come to realize that it's usually 10 degrees warmer in AK than it is in the rest of WDW - soooooo it was probably going to feel like the 90s there.

After talking it over with Lauren, we decided to skip AK, and head right over to the Boardwalk. Lauren loves the pool there and she also wanted a tan so her friends at home would be jealous. We figured we'd check out of SSR and head over to the BW to check in; spend a few hours by the pool enjoying some sunnin', sippin', and snackin'; then get our room and unpack; and eventually head over to Epcot late in the afternoon. We were having dinner at Tutto's at 7pm but wanted to make sure we had some time to walk around and enjoy the sights and tastes of Epcot before dinner.

So --- how to get to the BW from SSR? I figured my two main choices were: walk to DTD and get on a BW bus; or go out to the bus stop, get on a park bus, then just transfer to a BW bus. Since it was just after 9am, and DTD didn't open until 10am, I was thinking there probably wouldn't be alot of buses running from there just yet. So off we went to the SSR bus stop. Within minutes, an MK bus pulled up and we were on our way. We got over to MK by 9:40 and went right to the BW bus stop to wait for the next BW bus. We waited. And waited. And waited. By 10am, I was a little aggravated. I saw a CM, in a bus driver's uniform, carrying a clipboard. I had asked him when we could expect a bus to the BW. He explained they were experiencing some problems this morning but assured me a bus would be arriving w/in the next 10 minutes. And then he disappeared. And we waited. And waited. And waited.

It's now 10:30 and we've been waiting 50 minutes! Now busses did arrive from the BW - but none of them were returning there; they were all off to different resorts. At this time of day, I certainly wasn't expecting regular bus service but I thought for sure we would have gotten something w/in 30 minutes.

Clipboard CM returned and was shocked to see us still standing there. It was at this point ANOTHER CM came over. He must have been important because he had a tie on. At this point, I was not exactly the friendliest person but I kept my cool and just explained my frustration at having to stand around for almost an hour waiting for a bus and wasting valuable pool time. It was here that we experienced some of that beautiful Disney magic:

Tie-wearing CM: "I will personally drive you to the BW."
Me: "Say what?"
Tie-wearing CM: "I'm serious. Stay right here; I'll get my car."
Me: "Hot-diggity!"

What a lovely man - Mr. Cecil, bus transportation manager, was! He really had no explanation for the delay and apologized again. He then gave me his business card and told me to let him no when we got into our room at the BW - he wanted to get something to us to help make up for this bus misshap. (more on that later!)

We arrived at the BW by 11am - a little later than planned but we had our own personal driver. But no harm done, we checked in; our room wasn't ready yet but we were told we had been upgraded to a preferred view studio. (YAY!) We were at the pool and in our lounge chairs just in time for Leaping Libations to open up!

We ordered a late breakfast of pretzels and drinks: I had a Poolside Lemonade; Lauren had a smoothie - Pina Colava, I think:

Aaaaah - we were now refreshed. And feeling lucky we got there when we did. With it being such a warm day, the pool got crowded very quickly; lounge chairs were in high demand. Yeah - we weren't going anywhere for a while!

Lauren - thinking about going in:

We did go in for a little while and did our usual -- ride the clown slide a couple of times; then play catch with our "Nemo & Friends" squirt toys. The water was fabulous and felt great!

By 2:30, our room was ready. Before heading up, we decided to go out to the BW and get some lunch at one of our favorite little snack spots.....

Mmmmm - a little cart filled with so many delicious fried treats! We got the cheese fries (shocking!) and mozzarella sticks:

Yeah - we were eating REALLY good this day! Oh, and notice the refillable mug? Those are the new designs this year - so cute! You can get different-colored lids; I got the red but there is black, and yellow also.

After polishing off that food, we went up to our "preferred-view" studio room. Oh the Boardwalk! We just love everything about this place! We were now home!

Our "preferred view" was of the BW main pool. It was ok; during the afternoon as we got ready to go out, we were treated to music from the afternoon dance party; and it was pretty quiet at night.

As for our special treat from our transportation CM - my man Cecil had already taken care of us, without me even having to call and remind him. As we entered the room, sitting on the table was an envelope with a gold seal. Inside were these babies:

FOUR fast passes! Each one was good for TWO people to be used on ANY ride, in ANY park, with NO expiration!:yay: These were definitely going to come in handy!

I'm telling ya - Disney is not exempt from making mistakes but boy, do they sure know how to make up for them. I wasn't minding waiting long for that BW bus anymore!

Now, I'd like to continue but Lauren has her spring chorus concert tonite and I guess I should feed her before she has to leave. But................

coming up in the next installment: Kim Possible spy missions; another birthday celebration, Italien-style; and two fireworks show at one park!

Another great update:) :) :)

That wait must have been horible, but I bet a hour wait at disney is better then anywhere else:thumbsup2

Cammie - all I can say is wow! That is amazing you had 4 fast passes! I can't wait to see what you guys did with them! I'm so loving those BW photos. I'm thinking that might be a great place to put on our to do list!

That is so fantastic about the Fast Passes!!! How nice of Cecil!!

I laughed out loud at your "Hot Diggity!" comment. :rotfl2:

Have you told Lauren about May yet? :scared:
