Hi Everyone!!

Its been quite a few years since we have experienced AK. This trip we plan to spend a full day there, if we can tolerate the August heat!!!

I would really appreciated any input. We want to enjoy this park as best we can.

He are a few must dos....and how I was planning to approach them.

Arrive at RD.

Head straight for Safari

maybe hit 10 am show of Lion King (hope we will have enough time???)

10;30 am Tusker house Breakfast

Enjoy Pangani Forest

Enjoy tree of Life

See tough to be a bug

FP Adventurer Outpost

FP EE

Enjoy Majadin Jungle Treck

Enjoy Kali River Rapid

Shop around , explore more of the park

Head home

Any advice greatly appreciated. Im trying not to zig zag across the park multiple times, not sure if I accomplished that.

TIA!!

Are you going to FP Kali? I see FP for only EE and Adventure Outpost. August has lower attendance, but Kali lines can be long when it's hot.

Be at the gate at least 30 minutes before scheduled opening so you can be toward the front. Lion King could be tight.

Some times might be tight, but it all looks doable.

TY! Im considering not squeezing in Lion King at 10. I would push back tusker house but I want the character meal. Maybe I can see Lion king later in the day.

TY! I wasn't sure if I could fp Kali? Am I able to FP Kali and EE? I would only be doing FP for EE for my husband and I and we are going to need to do single rider/child swap on EE.

Actually, for EE if you were planning to do child swap anyway, I would not waste the FP, I would just use the single rider line, for EE it usually moves pretty fast. I have never been in August or other peak times, but I have never waited in the EE single rider line for more than 5 minutes, so thats something to think about.

Perhaps schedule Pangani to follow the Safari since they're right next to each other. That way it saves on backtracking and you can arrive on time to Tusker House. Assuming TH doesn't take more than 60-75 minutes, you could then head to FotLK immediately after lunch at noon. Which allows you to sit, relax, and digest right when the day is starting to heat up.

I think it's a good plan. Like someone said Kali can have a long wait in the summer, but you need to do it towards the end of the day because "when" you get wet you're not going to want to be trudging through the Park soaked the rest of the day.

Have fun!

Tusker House currently has characters for breakfast and lunch. I believe starting March 8th, dinner will also have characters.

I have to second this post! We were there last Aug. (first summer trip). We'd been on Kali before but being soaked was SO much more uncomfortable in the heat. I know that sounds weird and like we should have dried faster....I did, but I had moisture-wicking clothes on. We also went 2x in a row so the rest of the family was totally soaked through. Combine that with the humidity and everyone was miserable :sad2:

So 2 reasons to FP: better to do later in the day, and lines do get long when its hot. Even though crowd-wise we weren't there on a busy day the line was long by 10:00 and didn't seem to shorten up the good part of the day.

I was late last weekend and missed rope drop, had the same morning plan. We had to skip Lion King to keep on track with our FP times. Went back at the end of the day when we had to timeline to follow. The lion king was around 30 minutes so you may need to hussel out of there. If you want to go on Dinosaur you NEED a FP

The summer crowds at AK diminish drastically by mid afternoon. If you're staying all day, you can ride Everest and Dinosaur as many times as you want with little to no wait after about 4 pm

How old are your children?

My children LOVELOVELOVED the Wilderness Explorers stuff ... which took a lot of time but was very fun for them and they learned a tonne.

Are you not planning on seeing Flights of Wonder? It's a great show! Are you wanting to do any Meet and Greets? Pocahantas is wonderful :D

Our family could spend three full days at Animal Kingdom. We love walking around exploring ... and taking our time. You miss SO many animals by zooming from ride to ride. :D

Forgot all about Flights of Wonder! My DS's love it :goodvibes Definitely try fitting it in if possible

My children are 10 and 6, girl and boy. I think they would love this too, where is it located?? They LOVE meeting characters, but i thought Minnie and Mickey at Adventure outpost was the only place? That why I was going to FP that?

TY all for your advice and experiences, I so appreciate it!!!

You can also meet Goofy/Pluto in Dinoland and Daisy (I forget where she is exactly) is also a meet/greet. Neither have FP+, just lines.

I'd do Safari, Trails, Tusker House. You aren't going to have time to see the 10am show and get to Tusker House by 10:30. I'd schedule FP+ for EE, Kali (late afternoon) & either Dinosaur or Adventures Outpost as my third FP+.

We ended up doing Lion King show at 4pm and it was perfect because we needed a break to sit down by then. AK is a big park and lots of walking. Then after the show you could hit EE/Kali for a second time without FP+ with much smaller lines. We noticed that the park emptied out after the 4pm Lion King show!!!

There are also King Louie and Baloo!

The Wilderness Explorer thing is all over the park. Look for people with a bright orange bag.

Great thanks!! I think that I will do Safari, Trails, Tusker House. FP for EE. More exploring. FP adventurer outpost.
