We are power Disney cruises (9 more booked through the end of 2002), and we have now learned to schedule our flight for the night before (pre 9/11 we always flew in early the morning of the cruise and had no problems, but United cancellations for our upcoming trip taught us to change our plans). Since we already had a couple of 6:45 a.m. flights booked for Jan. and Feb. 2002, we were planning to do a "fly & ride" (i.e. spend the night at a hotel near O'Hare airport and leave our car there while gone on our trip). But the best park & fly rate I could get was at least $90. What we ended up doing was booking a hotel via Hotwire for a total of $44 with all fees & taxes, and then booking at Avistar parking lot via www.airportparkinglots.com for $6.95 a day. This will be less than the park & fly...we'll just bunch at the hotel, roll out of bed early, drop the car off and take the parking lot shuttle to and from the airport. Our hotel ended up being Candlewood Suites, which is regularly priced at $89...that's like half price. We just discovered www.hotwire.com recently and LOVE it. It works out better for us than Priceline because we get info. about the hotel amenities before finalizing the booking. They have especially good prices on suite hotels...we've gotten a great bargain on the Orlando Amerisuites for the flights when we are arriving the night before.
