Just so you know I am on the premium dinning plan. I was just wondering if we will be to busy to have fun. If maybe I should just cancel some the ressies and just see what we run into. Thank You for your time.

Sarah and Sami

My DH and I were on a a plan similar 12 years ago for our honeymoon and it seemed like all we did was eat or felt we had to eat because we had a package for 3 meals a day. Although we enjoyed it, we each came home 5 lbs heavier. You have some great places listed, I think you'll have to really have a plan together for seeing attractions. You may be spending more time getting to a restaurant and eating than you will be seeing the sights. I hope it all works out.

Thank You that was what I was kind of thinking. So I was kind of thinking I would maybe cancel some and just plan for room service or just pick up counter service.

Sarah

I actually do not necessarily think this constitutes too many reservations, although some of them are a bit of a trek from each other, which may increase the sense of rushing around to make it to restaurants.

If anything, I think some of the breaks between breakfast and lunch seem a little long.

In my opinion, it doesn't necessarily take much longer to eat table service vs. counter service at prime time. Counter service at off-peak times probably would be faster, but I do not like to wait to eat if I'm hungry. (Hey, at least I recognize it and plan accordingly!)

We went for just a short trip in March 06. We did:

Arrival night:
6:10--1900 Park

First full day:
8:05--Crystal Palace

12:15--Liberty Tree Tavern

6:30--Restaurant Akershus

*Trust me, we were hungry enough to eat at each of these meals!*

Second full day:
(7ish--Snack in room to tide us over)

10--Cinderella's Royal Table

2--Hollywood Brown Derby (Wish I had made this for a bit earlier; my then 3 year old was well ready for a nap by about 1:30, but dh wanted to try this restaurant. I bribed her with a Mickey ice cream, which perked her up a little, but we were fighting fatigue, and wound up taking a cab back. She fell asleep pretty much the second we got in.)

6ish--Room service back at Grand Floridian

Leaving day
8--Breakfast at 1900 Park

We are not huge people with monster appetites, in case you were wondering. (I'm around 5'6", 131 lbs; DH is around 5'8", 135 lbs; my 4 year old is 41 inches, 37 lbs.) At some meals, like Liberty Tree Tavern and Hollywood Brown Derby, I had a main course salad (no app, no dessert). Dd just ate a yogurt and fruit appetizer at Liberty Tree for her lunch; similarly, she only ate cut up fruit at Cinderella's Royal Table. This schedule gave us breaks and assured us we could eat meals at good places at reasonable hours. I also think it made it easier for us to make semi-healthy choices (and still have nice chocolate desserts at dinnertime!)

Happy planning! That premium plan sounds like fun. (I don't know much about it, but I like the sound of it!)

Looking at it quickly, it seems that you will be spending quite a bit of time dining. Personally, I'd opt for mostly CS for lunch. Hubby and I have actually found that on our trips, we don't eat 3 full meals. We just don't need to.

The day when you list Chef Mickey's for breakfast, Le Cellier for lunch and then HDDR for dinner...to me it just seems like that whole day would revolve around dining and wouldn't leave any time to enjoy the parks.

That is what I am kind of worried about. I am going to go thru everything and see what I change. Thank You everyone for your suggestions.

Sarah

I think that's one of the drawbacks of the premium plan. It seems great that it gives you so much in the way of dining options, but then you don't have any time to actually enjoy the parks.

Guess I should be happy that we can't afford the premium plan. ;)

Personally its to much time in Restaurants and not enough time in parks.. Plus who could eat that much food in one day?:confused3 Is there a way to change it to the regular dining plan so you won't feel like you have to make 3 ADR for TS meals each day..

I'm also going on the premium plan and don't have nearly as many meals booked as you do. Every lunch is free except for one. We have another lunch, but it's part of the keys to the kingdom tour.

We plan on having almost every breakfast as room service and have left every afternoon open to rent boats and doing other things. I have adrs for every dinner, be it a show or just a sit down meal.

We did this package once before and it's ALOT of food, by the 6th day we didn't want to see any more food. I plan on having lunch where ever I happen to be and not worry about it being a sit down. I also plan on it being a salad.

We KNOW we will have limited time in the parks and don't care. We intend on going to a park each night and that's about it. We have been going 3 or more times per year and take the approach that if we don't see it this trip, we'll see it next trip.

I don't feel I'm not going to get my money's worth because we have every activity booked, including fishing, trail rides, cirque, and carriage rides. We're also down for 4 or 5 tours .

It's a nice package, but if I were a novice or wanted to spend a ton of time in the parks, I wouldn't spend my money on it.

Wow - thats a lot of dining. Are you going to the parks? It seems like an awful lot of time in restaurants. I know a lot of people like to spend their time dining at Disney so if thats the case...go for it. To each their own. But if you want to get some park time in there, I'd do some re-arranging or keep your adrs and then cancel them as you decide when you're there what you don't want or don't have time for. Good luck and have fun.

We also are going to do the trail rides and the cirque we have three days plan of them things that we did not even buy tickets to the parks. Maybe just go to the spa and get a message. I really dont care if I go on every ride my favorite thing to do really is just walk around I only go on the rides for my sister and I only planned so many meals because I really hate to wait for a seat.

Sarah

I don't know how many days you're going for, but the difference in admissions between 6 days and 8 days was $6 total. I have 2 - 2 day left over hoppers and was going to use them and then realized I'd be wasting my money using up those non-expiring hoppers.

It was worth it to just get the extra days and if I don't use them, well, it was only $6.

I am going for 9 days and did not know about that I have AAA do my planning. I will have to talk to them about that thank you.

Sarah

Go online and recreate your package. You should be able to do it and take off the approx $300 you saved by using AAA.

When you play with the park tickets you'll see that 8 days of admission is only $6 more than 6.

I used AAA also, but I called them and told them exactly what I wanted after putting it together on disney's site.

BTW - it was $6 for me because we did not want the water parks & more feature. It may be more for you if you want those options. I didn't check it.

I don't know if you saw what I wrote about the water parks - look at my post for the edit.

No we are not doing the waterparks we live upstate ny there is waterparks all over the place up here.

Sarah

The main issue I can see is all the running around you have planned in. For example, on the 8th you have breakfast at AK, lunch at MGM, and dinner at DTD... That's a lot of travel time. If you like eating 3 sit-downs each day, I'd say having the ADRs is a good thing. I know we spent quite a bit of time in CS lines on hotter days, because the few air conditioned CS locations were packed. We probably would have been better off with ADRs for both of the meals we planned to eat in the parks. But I would try to have the ADRs clustered a bit better to avoid spending so much time en route.

Good idea I will have to review everything and see what I can do to maybe do the same places on the same day.

Sarah,

I started out with some basic "must do" reservations and then plotted them out using a calendar program. I noted the EMH on it also.

My husband & I then sat down and logically planned out what we wanted to do, for example, the tours, and then decided where we wanted to have dinner. Sometimes the dinner dictacted the park and sometimes the activity dictated the park. We tried to plan it out so we wouldn't move around too much. And we're staying at the Poly, one of the easiest to move around from, so half the stuff we're doing is close by and accessible either by launch or a short ride. I posted my ADRs and reservations if you want to look at them.

After we reviewed we started adjusting. At first we made major adjustments and I've been tweaking it ever since, such as making dinner reservations a bit later, etc. We also intentionally planned down-time into it every afternoon. It's hot & humid and the days are going to be long ones. I don't want to be falling asleep halfway thru dinner :)

I started this less than a week ago and I don't plan on making very many more changes.

I think it was pretty easy for us since we go so often and know just how long it takes to drive and monorail, plus how time can get away from you. We're also not that interested in going into the parks and can live with it if we don't get on all the rides we want.

If I were you, I would review EMH, your activites and your meals and start rearranging. It's a pain to keep calling, but if you stick to the same general area each day, or split it between 2 areas (morning & evening) you'll have a much more enjoyable time, IMHO.
