My AAA TA is crazy! LONG, sorry UPDATE on page 2

As for the "illegal code", I'm guessing you got booked under a PIN-code rate, but there is no corresponding PIN in your record (because you weren't sent one.)

As long as the pin code deal you are booked under is the same as the GP deal, it should just be a matter of changing the code.

In many cases, the impression I've gotten from the AAA agents I deal with at AAA-MI is that they act more like resellers than traditional travel agents. Disney has these packages, and that's what most AAA offices sell, with a small discount to you because of the volume AAA brings to Disney.

(This is true of most of the travel interactions I've had with them---they seem to prefer to book you into a third-party package rather than custom-book a trip for you.)

There are some AAA agents who act like travel agents rather than resellers, and provide a corresponding level of service. However, as commissions continue to be cut, I'm not convinced that such agents will be easy (or even possible) to find. Eventually, the commission one gets for booking one of these trips will be so small that it just won't pay to be on the phone making/changing ADRs, rebooking trips with new codes, etc. for each client.

Well, it's done. I called & cancelled. I just told her that, after our conversation yesterday & upon talking with DH, we had decided it is best to cancel and start fresh. She just said "okay." No questions, no "I'm sorry," no nothing.

The new agent I am working with has been great...very responsive, friendly, & helpful. Big shout out to Michelle Shears!!

Thanks for all the support & advice. I think I can sit back & relax now.

THANKS!! Feeling so much better...

I'm so sorry for everything you went through! :grouphug:

I'm sure Michelle will take good care of you...I am working with her and I had her change our ressie from room-only to package and then I had to change our dates by 1 day because of our flights--she changed everything without a problem.

Don't worry. This will get taken care of and you can go back to being happy that you're going to WDW! :cool1:

I too thought you had to use your local AAA office to book Disney vacations but once I found out different I am using belleandthebeast who has posted to this thread. She is a AAA agent and she has been wonderful to work with so if you're looking for a AAA agent I think you'll be very happy with her. I know like my vacation is in "good hands" and that's a great feeling!!!
