I just got off the phone with a Disney Cast Member at Old Key West who told me that if I had purchased some children's Park Hopper passes years ago, and now my child is 11, they will still honor her 9-yr. old children's pass at the theme park gates or at the Guest Services there with no additional charge. She told me Disney does not penalize children for growing up. Has anyone had any experience with this?

That is exactly right - I have done this with a good friends son and will be doing it with my dd in October.

My experience was with a friend and her son at the guest services at the IG at Epcot. She simply gave the CM the ticket and told her the story. Her son did have to be present and the date of last use had to coincide with her sons current age. It took about 5 minutes and he had an adult pass with the same number of days and plus options as his childs pass had left.

Some posters report that you can just use the childs pass at the turnstyles but my feeling is that its free and fairly quick to upgrade it so, why not? My dd will not be happy if a CM asks her her age and her ticket dosen't match so I plan to upgrade her tickets.

Enjoy,
TJ

What if you had admission passes that have not been used? For example, we still hold a 10-day nonexpiring child pass and 1 day child pass from our May trip that I bought but have not used at all. Can we still use as a child pass or do we get the child tickets applied towards an adult price ticket when we go and he is considered an adult admission?

I just watched some special on WDW on TV not to long ago...and they were saying...as long as your children were REALLY within the child age when the tickets were purchased...they honor the tickets straight across...meaning you'll get admission for your kids with those old kid tickets with out additional fees. But if you purchased a kids ticket and your kids were NOT within the kid age at the time of purchase....they won't do that.

Based on what I've read here, you could use the kid's pass when they're 65....as long as it was purchased when they were kids.. I find that somewhat unrealistic....jmho :smooth:

PARTIALLY USED children's admission can be used at no additional charge after the child turns 10.

If the ticket is unused, you will have to pay to upgrade to an adult ticket.

Dan is correct. Any partially used child's ticket can be exchanged at any Guest Relations for an adult ticket with the exact same remaining unused admissions - major or minor parks - that the child ticket had left. There is no charge for this.

Any new, unused child tickets can only be applied towards the price of a new adult ticket. You cannot have them changed to adult tickets at no charge.
