My 8 Y.O. has HUGE feet

Went shoe shopping yesterday. I'm freaking out. My 8 Y.O is in a 7-7 1/2 women's shoe.

My 12 Y.O. is in an 8 1/2.

Not to mention that now, I'm spending major $$ for both girls shoes, but I'm so worried that they won't stop growing anytime soon.

When did your girls feet stop growing? I wear a 10, and thank goodness, never got any bigger, but mine kept growing till 7th grade.

DD13 is still growing she is in a 9 1/2 to 10 depending on the shoe.

Dw seemed to stop at abour 7 1/2 to 8

I went up a bit the past couple years to a 9 1/2 to 10 depending on the cut.

Our biggest problem is her soccer shoes as she plays year around most of the time in 2 or 3 leagues at a time. It seems we are always out buying new cleats or indoor shoes for her as they have to fit just right or will effect her game.

Other shoes we just try to skip a few months between pairs so she has a rotation going on.

We have had great luck at Off Broadway shoe at Arundle Mills Mall for most of our shoes. I use Normstroms Rack for mine as I don't need the latest and greatest but like nice shoes. I have a bit of a problem in that department and have about 5 times the amount of shoes then DW . I guess I get that from DM but it makes me a great shopper for DD's sake.

Wow , sorry but that is kind of big. But you have large feet also, and it is hereditary.

My 8 yo DS wears a size 6. Actually when we were in WDW last September , I forgot tennis shoes for him to go on the Albatross cruise so I bought the Mickey canvas ones at the store on the BW for him to wear on the boat, and now I'm wearing them, so him and I do wear the same size.

One of my college roommates is 5'10" and her feet were size 11 - and she actually loved it. Size 11 means that the clearance racks are FULL with cute shoes her size.

My DD#1 is 15 and wears a 10 1/2 shoe! And she is only 5'6" and according to the pediatrician last week, probably not growing any more--maybe 1/2". I am taller (one inch) and my shoe size was 8 until I had babies. DH is a size 11 mens. I don't know what happened to her. She's a dancer but I don't think that should make a difference. Most of the "cute" shoes do not come in her size.
DD#2 is 12 in 4 days, 5'3", and a size 7. I don't think she'll be near to her sister's size!

I wore a size 7 in 5th grade and still do. My ds8 is in a size 2.5 or 3 so he has pretty small feet for now anyway. Dh wear 15's and ds takes after him so we will see what happens. Ds wore size 1 from the time he was 5 until he was 7.

My DD is 9 and wears a 71/2 shoe... I wear a size 9... I am short but DH is taller... DD is almost as tall as I am...

Kids just have big feet these days. I attribute it to my totally UNscientific study that kids only wear tennis shoes, flip-flops, sandals, etc. Growing up we always wore dress shoes to school and only wore tennis shoes in the summer and for gym class.

DS12 wears a men's 10 1/2, DD12 wears a ladies 91/2, DS14 has the little feet in the family at a men's 8 1/2, I now wear a 9 but wore a 7 1/2-8 until after I had the twins, DH wears a 10 1/2. My kids are all about 4' 11" tall, so not huge yet but they haven't hit their major growth spurt yet. I am 5' 4" and DH is 6'.

I think my feet stopped growing around the age of 10 (size 7 1/2 - 8) and then grew some more through both pregnancies to a 9.

She might get to a 10 or more, but there's nothing wrong with that. I once saw in an article that the average foot size is actually an 8. I would have thought it would be smaller.

I feel a lot better seeing all of these other kids w/ large feet. My 7 yo son (ack, he is now 8 - as of yesterday...) wears a 7 youth, which translates to a womans size 8 or so.... We tried on some womans Keens - I didnt tell him they were womans and that style is really unisex - and the 7 was WAY to small!

One thing, I am 5'11" and hubby is 6'3" - both w/large feet. Heck, the 4 yo is wearing a size 13 now...he's on the same path - poor dude.

I'm 5'5", and DH is 5'10". I wear a 10, so I know the girls feet won't be small, but her's are just so long!!

DH is only a size 10---Wish they could have gotten his dinky feet.

Also hard to find age appropriate shoes for her---Sandals were all so high heeled.

That is the REAL problem. We have a heck of a time finding shoes for DD12.

I know my parents thought it was weird that I was a size 6 at age 8, but my feet pretty much stopped growing after that. Today at 17 the largest size I wear is 7 1/2, but I'm normally a 7.

my DD 7 has such tiny narrow feet. she only wears a size 12 1/2 in kid sizes. From the time she was born until she turned a year old she wore size zero with room to spare.

My DD has small feet. She will be 5 in June, and is just ready to start wearing a size 10(waiting for nice weather so she can wear new sneakers).

My DD 9 wears a size 8 or 8 1/2 woman's shoe, that is the same size as me. She is already 5'1" tall, the doctor said she will be a minimum of 5'7". My hubby is 6ft (he wears a size 13) and I am 5'4". It is super hard to get dress shoes that don't have a heel or look too old for her. However, I was at Payless the other day and I noticed many of the spring styles seem to be ballet style flats(thank God!) If her feet keep growing she will have to shop where the drag Queens shop by the time she is a teenager!

My 9 year old DD wears a womans 9 1/2 already but DH is 6'8" and wears a 15...I am 5'8" and wear a size 9
