My 7 Month Vacation as a WDW Intern: MINI UPDATE 12/10

Those boots look awesome and I think you will be happy that you spent real money on real boots. How fun to have your college roomie come visit. It's one thing to have your family come down... but another thing entirely to have some "girl time". We went Pimenti Brothers on my last trip to Pittsburgh... good stuff!

Hi Megan,

Have just found this thread and spent over an hour reading about your plans. You are going to have a brilliant time! (Couldn't find a "Jealous" smilie so heres a :cool1: )

We have stayed at Coral Cay and thought it was great. I am sure you will love it too! We are going out there again at the end of July with our kids for our summer vacation. Hope to see you there!!!

HEY DIS!!

4 days to go!!!

Time has gone by sooo quickly. My mom made the comment today about how she feels like she blinked and a month had gone by already!

Lets see some updates. My dad has put one of those shoe extender thingies in my boots to hopefully get the a tad more wide which is nice :woohoo:

Hm..what else...

Oh ya..my scripts. Well after the past few days of wanting to take the bridge or throw my scripts off a bridge..I'm making slow progress. My thinking is..of any PI who is actually going to take the time to sit down and memorize all of these before they come. I have a feeling most PIs did not do a CP like me and will be doing the crazy packing..so I feel I'm at an advantage :cool1: I started page 3 of 5 today. Page 3 is only 17 sentences. Day one was 20 or so, Day 2 was 22 (so those 2 days are more than all of dino!). Day 3 is 17, Day 4 is 13, and Day 5 is 15..so I feel like it's all downhill from now on!

Even though I'm trying to concentrate on the scripts, I'm still trying to find some time to have fun. My wonderful mom had to use up her vacation time by the end of June so she took today off and we went to lunch and to the local pool again. I took my scripts and actually studied them a lot. I would go in the pool and sit and read and go back in the pool and did that for about 4 hours :cool1: :woohoo:

Tomorrow, we're going to the Pittsburgh Zoo and lunch at Fuddruckers at the Waterfront in Pittsburgh. That night we're heading to Ohio to say bye to all my moms family. Saturday we're going out for fathers day/ moms bday. Sunday we might go to the pool again since it's not supposed to rain. Monday will be my last full day at home. I have some errands to run, I'm taking my mom so we can get pedicures (she's never had one!) and we're going to have lunch at Cheesecake Factory :cool1: and I'll spend the rest of the night packing and doing laundry.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'll try and post some pics from the Zoo. My dad says it will be like AK but w/o the rides..ha.

*Take Care Everyone!*

Hey Megan,I just finished reading your new TR and things are really off to a great start! I am so excited for you to have this second wonderful adventure! You must be flying high right now!!

Your room signs and calanders look great and I just love your new boots! I hope they work for you. Am I missing something or is one of your roommates a Megan to?

Well, enjoy the last few days at home and study hard. I am sure you will impress them at AK with all the work you have done.

yes..one of my roommates is a "megan" only she is a "meghan"...she is not authentic..that is the wrong way to spell it lol..or at least that's what my parents have been telling me my whole life haha.

thanks for reading, you were such a great support for my CP report!

I had to :rotfl: at this...my "Megan" was supposed to be "Meghann" (a' la Thorn Birds), but my ex was a real piece of work and refused to allow it. I used the standard spelling, but now Miss 19yo has announced that she wants to legally change it to "how it was MEANT to be" ;) I'll have to tell her that isn't "authentic" and see what I hear...:rolleyes1

You are doing great and I'm sure your brain will soak it all up and then *snap* it right into place!

I'm enjoying your TR, and hope that our FGIT in Sept. is as nice as you! Keep writing and I'll keep reading! Let us know where you're going to be when you find out and I'm sure you'll be having some visitors. :)

ok I'm jealous you are going to fuddruckers. They closed the one around me.:furious:

Sounds like things are going very well!! Yum for Fuddruckers and Cheesecake Factory. I haven't been to either one in ages!

I hope you get some good quality family time in before you go!

ooh not long for you left at all now is there?! I bet you're so excited, I'm excited about coming to see you... hopefully you'll be in the parks in 2 weeks time! We've have an ADR for Donald's breakfast thing on the morning of the 5th at AK, so hopefully we can see you then!!
Loving the boots, very AK-ish, you'll definately fit right in!!
Hope you had a fantastic time with your friend and at the Zoo with your family, I love Zoo's... another reason to visit AK a lot on our trip!!
Well done on learning lots of your scripts, you're doing so well, I wish my revision was that good!!!! :rotfl:

lol I don't think I would ever change the spelling of my name. I would change my name but not the spelling if that makes sense? lol. My middle name is Ashley..I would have rather it been that but oh well..I guess I'm stuck with what I got!

lol. We have always eaten at one in HHI but we got one in Pittsburgh about a year ago and have been there a few times but it's out of the way just to go there for a meal but when my college roomie lived 5 mins away from there it made more of an excuse lol.

2 days to go! :bitelip: :scared1:  :cool1:

I put all the different reactions because I'm feeling so many different emotions right now it's crazy.

The past few days have been a blast for me. I'm the type of person who has to be "busy" to keep her mind off of things so this whole weekend of being busy has been a great thing for me.

Lets see..

Yesterday I went to the Pittsburgh Zoo with my mom, dad, and brother. We had a wonderful time and great weather too. We got to see lots of animals but I have not been to the Zoo since I was 7 and forgot about all the hills you hafta walk :worried: The Zoo has a recent aquarium and polar bear exhibit so that was really cool to see. The polar bears were my fav. My mom even bought me a cutie polar bear to take back to FL with me. While we were at the Zoo we saw baby beavers and it was sooo funny bc they were trying to get to the food and the dad kept taking them back to the nest and they would jump back into the water...we watched this for about 15 mins and they were still tryin for that food when we left!

Anyways here are some pics...

Of course I would not be a true WDW lover unless I took hundreds of pictures which I did, but I'm not going to post them...Maybe I will on Facebook if you are friends with me on there...

So after the Zoo we drove to the Waterfront which is 10 mins outside of the city and for us from the Zoo it took a 1/2 hour because of traffic :(

We got there just in time because when we sat down it began to pour down rain and storm!!!! I guess Allegheny Country got hit pretty bad. My friend that lives 10 mins from the Zoo said they had lightning hit their house and they lost all their tvs, garage doors, computer and some alarm clocks :( I guess it was good we left the Zoo when we did..too bad there were TONS of people and school groups going in as we left at noon.

After lunch we drove home and had a few hours before we drove to Ohio for my moms bday party with her sisters & bro inlaws. Breif history..my mom has 3 older sisters...the oldest was 16 when she was born then 14 and 12 so needless to say my mom is a true baby of the family!!

Here are some pics of her party:

For some reason, my mom tends to close her eyes in pics from time to time lol. We had a great time there and they too had bad storms while we where there! We can't even go to another state to get away from storms lol. Anways, that day was a ton of driving. We spent about 4.5 hours in the car between the Zoo and Ohio. I pretty much slept the whole way home from the Zoo and Ohio.

Today was a busy day too. I slept till about 10 and got up and my mom and I went to get pedicures. She has never had one before so we went and of course they were behind even though we had appts. Our appts were for 12:30 and we got home around 2:30. We still had a nice time even though today was pretty much a wash-out again.

This evening my mom, dad, bro, and I went out to dinner with friends of our family. My dad worked with the guy for years at his job in my hometown and then again at the college I went to so they have become like my aunt and uncle that don't live in Ohio lol. We had a very nice dinner and I had them bring out a little cake for my mom that we all shared.

Here are some pics of tonight:

We had a wonderful time. We were told we would have to wait one hour but it ended up being about 20 mins :cool1: We were happy they did not rush us but let me tell you I was stuffed by the end. We had 3 appetz., french onion soup, bread w/butter, I had fish with rice, and then mom's cake. I think I'll be stuffed until I get back to FL lol.

Tomorrow is still up in the air. We will go to church in the morning and then the afternoon is a ???? My old dance school that I danced at for 10 years is having their recital at 4. I really would like to see it..it's call Decades of Disney so of course I want to go but my mom would rather sit at the pool  but would go with me. The recital is at 4 and our local pool opens at noon so it would be a waste of 10 bucks to only go for 2 hours. I guess maybe I'll get home from church and decide. We're going to have "thanksgiving" dinner for dinner since I won't be home for Thanksgiving and we're going to celebrate Father's Day and my moms birthday.

Tonight when we got home from dinner, I kinda did a "dry run" at my packing. I thought for sure I would go back to FL with less..

I was wrong :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I put everything in and as long as the clothes I'm going to wash fit, I will be golden..minus the whole weight thing but we'll deal with that on Tues lol.

Other than that, not much is going on. I'm trying to keep busy as possible #1 because I won't have to think about saying goodbye and #2 I won't get bored knowing I'm excited.

My scripts are going well. I did not do any script yesterday..it was just too busy and too much running around. I did review what I had done prior to that but did not start any new. I worked on some of my script today but I'll work on it more. After today, I'll have one day of script left. I don't think I would have had time for script 3 even if they did send it but it would have been nice to read on the plane. Oh well!!

I hope everyone is having a magical weekend!! I'll be posting tons w/in the next few days so stay tuned!

Looks like a fun time was had by all! It's good that you were able to have all this great quality family time before you take off.

Continued good luck with all of your memorizing. When I was memorizing things for college, things that I had to remember exactly, I would say it all on tape and then play it back over and over and over until I perfected it. I put it in the car and played it every time I was driving, too, instead of listening to any music.

I hope you have a great last day with your family. It might be worth ten bucks to do a little time with your mom at the pool and got to the Disney recital, since it is the last day.

Enjoy your turkey dinner!

Our countdown is now less than two weeks. Two weeks from today, we're scheduled to spend the day at Hollywood Studios for the last day of Star Wars weekend. We know little to nothing about Star Wars, but we want to see the special parade and the characters dressed up. We like to be in on anything Disney special. We've done St. Patrick's Day, Easter week, Thanksgiving week, Christmas, Food and Wine Festival, and Flower and Garden Festival, and in a couple of weeks we'll be adding Star Wars Weekend and Fourth of July to the list. I could kick myself a thousand times over for not planning to be there on Animal Kingdom's tenth anniversary celebration. I was not happy with me for missing out on that! :( It would have been so cool to hear Joe Rohde and Jane Goodall.

Prayers and good thoughts go out to you for safe travel to Florida.

P.S. Happy Birthday to your mom! I was fortunate enough to be able to spend my 50th in Disney World last summer. This summer, #51 will see me back at home from our trip still in Disney withdrawal. Such sadness.

Sounds like a fun weekend.

Glad the scripts are going well.

Good luck with packing!!!

Hoping you have a safe & easy flight down!
