I am sure this won't be as funny on the computer as it was actually being there but.............

My 5 year old had a check up at the allergist today. The nurse is wearing a red, white and blue Mickey pin. My son notices it and she says she got it "at that big market place." Of course, my ds says "you mean Downtown Disney?" Yep! Then he says "it is way too big to be a DVC pin." The nurse asks what DVC is and my son says "you don't know what DVC is?" I am surprised he didn't add a DUH at the end of it! lol He then says "It is our vacation home. We go to Old Key West, Vero Beach, Hilton Head, you know. We use our points there." I was looking for a place to bury my head at that point. Thankfully, she seemed to take it in stride. She leaves the room and he says "mom, can you believe she didn't know what DVC is" and he shakes his little head in disbelief!

I think it is safe to say that dh and I have rubbed off on our son!

Before long he will be fighting you for those points that he thinks you may not use.

LisaR,

That is too cute! You are clearly raising a bona fide WDW fan!

My thought too. Watch your points when he gets older.:earsboy:

Cute! We have a couple of boys in our family who know DVC too. My DS8 was disappointed last trip when I told him we were staying at AKL -- "no bedrooms? We have to all sleep in one room". DS3 tells me all the time he wants to go to his "vacation home". It's nice to teach our children the finer points in life, isn't it.:D

Wait until he starts selling his friends on DVC. I'm sure the parents are going to love that.;) Can you see it now, all the little 5 year olds saving their pennies to buy DVC.:teeth:

My kids 5 and 6 are also very DVC. Last trip every time I would strike up a conversation with someone in line or on the bus, when they would ask me where we were staying I would just say Beach Club. My son would then pop in the conversation and say " Beach Club VILLAS, Mom".

Your son and my 5 year old daughter should meet, lol. Your son can explain points to people and my daughter will sing the "If you believe in magic, you belong" song which she knows very well, lol !

LOL!!!
You'd better hide those postcards advertising add-ons...he might just pick up the phone and buy some!!!!!

Oh what a cheerful post!!! Thanks I needed a happy laugh - boy ya'll kids are definitely WDW fans!

The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree! Cute story & a very knowledgeable little boy!

My DS who just turned 3 last week, refers to HH as "his home". Whenever we're in the van and he asks if we're going to "mom's house" - that means our home, but then he cries and says he wants to go to "his home" which is what he calls HH after a four night stay there in January. We have a picture on our desktop of the kids at HH and he says that him at his home.
