My 4th Dis Diva Girls Trip was GREAT!! Completed 3/29

I am so sad I didn't get the opportunity to see you this year. If you are able to make it out next year it is an absolute MUST!

I was sad too :( Sorry you weren't able to join in on any of the group things......I was looking for you!!

Me too. But I had an opportunity to visit the family and had to take it. I was meandering around Cars Land all weekend, lol. But definitely next time. I did get to see a few ladies which was nice.

Yay for family!! I wandered around CarsLand a few times, but never spotted you. Glad you got to see a few of the ladies. Did you get this year's shirt?? Melody out did herself this year!

I believe Vanessa has my shirt, but I saw them and they are amazing. EEEE! I can be hard to pin down when I've got a Lead shift, but if you're ever in the area again I can do my best to be 'findable' ;)

Thursday, February 26:

Really rough night with leg cramps......well shin cramps that go down to my toes. I usually have banana's on hand for my Disney days, because this is not uncommon to happen. I was kinda hoping that with the exercise, weight loss, walking/jogging I had been doing that this wouldn't be an issue.....but it was. I rolled out of bed around 7am because I had just flat given up on sleeping. As I sat on the edge of the bed, I looked down and noticed the carpet was moving (dark colored) but soon realized it was a bug.....it stayed on the edge but as soon as I moved it shot under the bed!! Not sure what it was but ICK!!

I showered, dressed and headed out (well after taking care of 2 household bills). I stopped in the small gift shop in the lobby (looking for a banana....no luck) but did find a couple things for my exchange gift. I walked towards the parks, I couldn't get in yet as I didn't have an early entry, so I continued on to DTD. I got in line at the LaBrea Express to pick up a bottle of water & a banana. The banana's were 2 for 1 (they were small) which was a good thing since one of them was mostly bruised & squishy! :crazy2: I sat on the cement wall near security & people watched & caught up on Facebook.

I finished my breakfast and went back through security to get in the long lines to enter Disneyland. The park would open at 10am for the general public. About 9:50 they started letting us in. The first thing I noticed as I stepped onto Main Street was that the castle was no longer tarped!!

I headed straight to the Camera Shop to exchange my Photopass+ voucher for the card. Before I went in, Tiana was on her way out & graciously paused so I could get her picture!

With card in hand, I headed to the Partner's Statue to get a couple pictures & a Photopass picture if there is a photographer there.

Next was to get a few pictures of the castle. The tarps were gone but there was still a fence blocking the "drawbridge" to the castle.

I wandered a bit through Frontierland and then Fantasyland. Wasn't spotting any Diva's, so I decided to try to find the Graduation Ear's for my twins teacher. Her daughter is graduating high school this year and she thought that would make a neat gift. I ran into a couple Diva's in the Mad Hatter shop and found the ears. I had her name stitched on and they also gave me a "Just Graduated" button. Since I now had an item I didn't want smashed, I headed back to Main Street & picked up a couple shirts & then headed to the motel to drop off the bags.

Just to give you an idea how close this motel is to the main pedestrian crossing on Harbor:

I changed shirts since I was cold with short sleeves. The sun was shining, but it wasn't what I would call warm. I figured my lunch with some of the Divas would probably be outside seating.....I wanted to be warm enough without having to wear a coat. I headed back to the parks and towards New Orlean's Square. I had signed up for the Cafe Orlean's lunch at 11:30. As we were gathering & waiting to be seated.

A couple of the Diva's gathered everyone's passes/tickets and ran to BTMRR to get Fastpasses. While they were gone, we were seated. We were at 2 sets of tables.

Another set of the table pictures, now that everyone was there.

I sat by Heather & her daughter Emma. It was nice getting to know her better. We put in our order and it took a LONG time to get our food. There were other larger families that came & went before we even got our lunch! I will say, the food was delicious.....so I was ok with the wait. I mean, I did have the company of 19 other Divas!! I ordered the Cafe Orleans Salmon Sandwich - Pan-seared Atlantic Salmon with fresh Cucumber-Tomato Relish, Bacon, and our Cafe Remoulade served on a Multigrain Roll with seasoned Sweet Potato Fries. I ordered it minus the bun. It was so good! My Sweet Potato Waffle Fries caught the eye of some of the ladies, so I shared since I knew I wasn't going to eat very many of them. I chuckled when I saw a plate of the fries being delivered to the other table of Diva's.

While we dined & chatted, Tiana came out & I was able to get this picture from my seat on the patio at Cafe Orleans.

Great meal and even better company!

It sounds like a lovely morning/lunch so far. It looks like you all have fun together.

You mentioned the "just graduated" button. We are taking our daughter for her high school grad trip this June. Did you get the button at the Mad Hatter, or at City Halll? We plan on buying her the grad ears too, and I'd love for her to get the button also. What great keepsakes! Thank you for your help .

I got the button at the Mad Hatter, he handed it to me with the ears. I imagine you could also get this at City Hall.

There is just something about that store & what they carry that I always spend a pretty penny! How long ago did it change? The first time I was there was in 2005 & I kinda thought it was about the same. They have 2 shops, one with sundries & newspapers/magazines and such and then the Fantasia Gift Shop. If I'm on that end of DTD or going to the DLH for a meal, I always make time to go in there.

It was a very fun Diva trip!! Always looking for new Diva's.......just sayin' :upsidedow

That store always seems to have something I never see in the parks. Before the DLH went through the remodel in the 1990's that store was the sundries store next to the Monorail Cafe I believe. I just remember as a kid that it was there.

Diva trips sound fun. I have really busy times in Feb/March so prob can't do it but I'll live vicariously :flower:

I was at the DLH in the late 60's/early 70's and don't really remember much. Next time I went there was in 2005 but that store caught my eye and still does.

Bummer that Feb/March is a busy time for you........do you do taxes by chance??

After lunch, we headed towards the Partner's Statue for our Group Photo. Here we are as we waited for more of the Diva's to arrive.

Here's a phone copy of the picture. One of the funny things that happened from this photo on......we had the photographer include themselves as a "selfie" in one of our group shots. We will need to continue this tradition! You will get to see that when the photopass pictures come in.

The majority of the group was headed to the Enchanted Tiki Room or Jungle Cruise for a group attraction. Since the FP for BTMRR was nearing the end of the hour window, I decided I wanted to use it & ride my favorite ride. Pretty much knew, this would be the only ride I got on today since I had to change for the Meet-n-Greet dinner/party. I am on the fundraising committee and we needed to start setting up the auction & raffle items at 4pm. Here are my pics from on the "Wildest Ride in the Wilderness"!!

I went back to the motel to get ready for the party and wait for Michelle (zoemakes5) to arrive from San Diego. I would have a roommate for the rest of the trip. So the theme of the party was "Wonderful World of Colorful Diva's". You were supposed to dress head to toe in your favorite color. Can you guess what my favorite color is?? (I even wore make-up....which I might wear once a year.....lol.....but glitter eye shadow is not a good idea....super hard to get off!!)

Wow!!! The food looks good and I love your outfit. If I had been there, I would have worn red

My lunch was my best meal on the trip!! Usually I get the gumbo and share the Monte Cristo Sandwich, but since I've changed my eating habits......that wasn't even appetizing to me (well maybe the gumbo would have been good). The salmon was delicious!!

Thank you......I picked up scrubs....super comfy and I will at least use the pants for sleeping in......lol

Red is a good color too.....in fact it used to be my favorite. Just the last few years I've moved towards the hot pink.
