I did not have a pin attached to anyone in our household. When I asked about any special offers, the CM said that she had access to codes. :cool1: So I booked the Grand Floridian. 10 nights. 7 day base tix. Dining plan for all five people in the room (all 11 y.o. and above). $5,600! The price from the website is $7,292 for the same parameters. Which breaks down to $195 per night savings. The dining plan costs $194.95 per night for 5 adults. Free dining and the GF at Christmas. :santa:

No I think what the poster is saying is that with the discount on the room with the code was equal to what she was spending on the DDP so her savings was equal to the cost of the DDP.

Sorry to confuse you. The discount that we received is equivalent to the savings that we would receive if Disney were to offer "Free Dining" again. The bonus for us is that we are receiving the discount at Christmastime when we can go vs. when "Free Dining" has traditionally been offered. Does that make sense?

It worked out for us like that too...

Initially I booked a Poly MK view, 5 day hopper, 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant, No dining $3300.

Called back few weeks later applied code and added dining ~ dropped price to $2700.

Priced it on Disney website and it's $3700 (5 nites, hoppers, dining, mk view).

What code would we be talking about??????

can you tell me what the 40% code is . I already have the free dining for this year because of the bounce back program when I was there at Christmas. But I just want to see if the 40% would be better than free dining. thanks

Our discount ended up being $300 (we're staying at Pop), so we end up paying $150 for 7 days of dining. We loved free dining, but going during Christmas time with no luvbugs has us pretty excited!

We did a room only at Poly and saved $1332.45. The savings is enough to cover our food for 9 nights and all but $100 of our park tickets for 9 days.

I think it works out like that for most people who book the deluxe resorts. I know our discount was enough to cover our dining, with a little over $100 left over! Of course, Disney will get that Franklin in one form or another... most likely ins souvenirs.

What discount are you guys talking about?

Can someone explain the code to me. I read the link, and booked a room at pop a couple weeks ago, but at full retail price, same thing the website qouted me, with passes and dining, so looking to sve some money.. Was thinking of upgrading to a better resort, and this code might be it for me... someone help please

:confused3 I am a little confused but mostly jealous we didn't receive a discount postcard!:sad1:

I got the 40% off card in the mail too - we are staying at the Pop (why, because we loved it the last 2 times...) - anyways, the 40% off saves us only $300.00 - because it doesn't give you 40% off of ANYTHING but the ROOM RATE, and ROOM RATE ONLY.... my card had the spinning thing inside of it and a free DVD or something.....

So the people who are staying in the higher priced resorts save more, but they spend more to stay in those resorts... ya know.... unfortunately, those of us who stay in the value resorts, dont save much at all.

BUMMER!

But we still did the meal plan, for a family of 4, 700.00 for 7 nights, but technically, we saved 300.00 off of that, right?

I thought I'd save more...but beggers cant be choosers, right?

I just called and tried to use the 40% off code but the guy said it was only for certain dates (he rattled some off) but not mine :(

Hey samiandsky...when are you going? We're staying at the Pop Too.

We are going Monday, Feb 26th thru Monday, March 5th.........
I still feel like I should have stayed at a more expensive hotel to use the 40% off on.... but then ultimately, I'd be spending more money, and I loved the pop the last time we went in 2005.

We were in the 50's building.
