My 1st PTR/TR: An unexpected trip, Disney in December 4 *Day 3 6/5 Illuminations!*

I missed the Samantha Brown Disney shows!!! :sad2: I will check for it to come again, they usually do. Should I admit that I thought the Osborne lights were Ozzy Osborne too?? ;) I was glad to read about the real family on AllEars.net. I couldn't figure out why Ozzy would have lights at Disney but I figured that Aerosmith was there so maybe he jumped onboard too!! :rotfl: Good grief! I need help!
You go in 10 days!!!! I am so excited for you guys!! Are you getting your suitcases out? Organizing your outfits? Collecting your stuff? :thumbsup2
It's on again girl! 12 noon on the travel channel. Hopefully you caught it, if not then it should be on again soon! I'll keep an eye out for you :thumbsup2

We're down to single digits! 1 week from tonight and we'll be heading to bed early to leave the next morning! I guess it is only right to take after everyone and do a single digit dance right?? Anyone want to join me!?

:woohoo: :dance3: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay: :yay: :mickeyjum :dogdance: :woohoo: :dance3:

Ok, with that said, what's Day 2 plans?
Well, that all depends on what my friend Ann is doing. We'll probably do a lighter breakfast this morning. I found one of those 8 small variety cereal packs on sale at the groceries for $1.99 and all we would have to do is get some soy milk from the resort. Dbf is lactose and I have a dairy hormone allergy.
IF my friend is available that day (still waiting to hear her work schedule) then we're meeting her at HS and spending the whole day there. Of course, 1st stop would be to get TSM fastpasses, definitely want to try that one out. Probably get TLM out of the way and TGMR. I want to try out a few new things this year like the Animation Studio, you know the place to try drawing some of the characters. And last year we didn't see the Lights Motor Action Show (saw it in 2006 though) because of the rain. We'll be stopping at Studio Catering Company for lunch. Will definitely have to get me that Greek Salad again, soo good and Dbf will get either the pulled pork sandwich or the chicken with black beans and rice. Then...Backlot, etc. gotta see the Osbourne Family Lights again and watch it snow, then we'll do Fantasmic. I really like the characters at the end on the boat, since you get to see all of them at once, but I don't think it's my favorite display. Wishes and Illuminations are tied for my favorites, along with Spectro. We didn't see Fantasmic last year, so we'll have to stop and do it again.

Day 3...IF my friend isn't available for Day 2, then we'll be doing all the above for Day 3. IF she is available for Day 2, then Day 3 will be AK for Dbf and myself. We'll get a nice big breakfast at the resort, probably a Mickey Waffle this day, probably French Toast for Dbf. Let's see...not sure what order, but Bugs Life, Finding Nemo musical, probably try and do our Safari in the morning, just for something different. Let Dbf ride EE. Getting lunch at Restaurantosaurus, need to get a big burger and load it up with the fixin's bar!! Next, we'll see all the animal trails (Pangani, etc), Festival of the Lion King, and probably share something at Yak and Yeti (counter service). Anyone eat here? I've seen mixed reviews, I'm thinking maybe split the Crispy Honey Chicken. I definitely want to get another hot vanilla tea at the Royal Tea Company, so good! We can get through AK fairly quick, so we'll probably stay until about 4, then head over to DD. We'll use our $15 coupon from the Magic Your Way Package and split 2 appetizers at Planet Hollywood, probably get the Bruschetta and maybe...wings, potato skins, not sure on the 2nd yet. Then, IF the line is short, we want to get a drink a piece at the bar at the new T-Rex restaurant. I've seen pics and it looks so awesome in there. IF it's too long, then we'll go to our usual spot at Rainforest and get some drinks there. We'll relax for a while, maybe come back and swim. But that's the plan so far! :thumbsup2

Doing the single digit dance with you!!         How fun that you are only a week away!!! Awesome! You guys must be getting really excited!
I just read a TR where they went to the Yak and Yeti and enjoyed it so I will interested to see if you guys like it too if you go. We did the drawing in the Animation Studio 2 times and that was fun. Seems like we did Donald Duck and Minnie Mouse.
What are you most looking forward to? Ride... food... snack... event... show... everything??? :goodvibes

Thanks for dancing with me!! :thumbsup2
We are getting excited, we finally started packing last night! Wow, I may have to do a whole entry on what I'm looking forward to! I'd say, d) all of the above, and leave it at that for now :goodvibes

That's ok though, Dbf always thought that they were talking about Ozzy and his family..shh! :rotfl2:

You mean, it's not? I'm so devastated!

This was SOOOO my way of thinking! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Day 4, 5 and 6 plans

Day 4, Thursday, we had plans of going back to MK, as that's an extra magic hours day and we wanted to do rope drop, however; my friend just emailed me last night and doesn't know until Sunday (the day before we leave) what day she has off, but she's thinking it'll be thursday. So, that kinda throws a loop into our plans. So, without knowing how much will change in our plans, I'll just continue on with what we would have done

First getting up EARLY,(this will be the only early early day) eating a nice breakfast at the resort, then getting to MK for rope drop. The route of this day is sorta up in the air. We will probably hit all the big rides first with it being EMH, so HM, Splash, BTMR, Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, Spash Mountain, Indy, Pirates...oh I have absolutely no idea! We want to do probably Cosmic Rays again for lunch, probably either a burger so a turkey wrap for me and something else for Dbf. No clue! And dinner..absolutely no idea. Any suggestions? Maybe Pecos Bills? Or Casey's for a snack and back to the resort later in the night for some Penne Alfredo with Chicken and a salad. I don't know.. This night though, we'll probably skip Spectro and Wishes and just leave it at a ride all day kind of day. We MAY stop at Wilderness Lodge before we go, haven't decided yet. Probably will swim and relax at the resort this night.

Day 5 Friday
Our Epcot day and final full day! This is our shortest vacation. We've always gone for 6 nights, 7 days, so it may be weird not having that extra day. But Epcot, I wanna get the FW stuff outta the way first: Test Track, Ellen, Innovations, MAYBE try Soarin (haven't decided yet, trying to syke myself up for this on...not good with Vertigo or Heights, to me it still just seems like a giant swinging ferris wheel:confused3 ), try out Beverely...we plan on stopping over at the Boardwalk/Beach Club and having lunch at Beaches and Cream. I want the chicken sandwich and vanila coke and Dbf wants the Roast Beef sandwich. I'm going to ask if they have soy ice cream as an option, as I've heard a few of the restaurants are able to substitute, if not, I'll just have a few bites and split a banana split with Dbf. I've never seen these resorts before, and am excited to see the chocolate carousel and decorations. After we saw all we wanted to see, we'll head back to Epcot and spend the rest of the day at WS. I wanna hit Mexico and check out the animal carvings, Japan for the sugar displays, Norway for Maelstrom, the Tea shop in England, etc.. I think we decided for dinner that we're going to do a sort of snacks around the world instead of doing a "real" dinner. Our choices include, Fish and Chips, a French pastry or Tiramisu in Italy, a pretzel (with cheese as Dbf requested), a Grand Marnier slushie, maybe a sushi roll in Japan...there's so many choices! We'll see what all we can pack into us ;)

Day 6, Saturday
Thankfully our flight on doesn't leave until 2:15, so we may try and squeeze something in that day, like I think HS has early EMH or we may go play a round of putt putt at Winter Summerland before we leave, possibly with Ann if she's available. We're going to sleep in a little today, get our last big breakfast at the resort and check out. I'm not sure how the ME works for this. Do you load your luggage on or tell them what time your flight is and you just get on the bus? Do you have to get on at the usual 2-3 hours before your flight leaves? I'll have to figure that out. But, once we get close to the time we need to start to head out, we'll hop the bus, head to MCO, flight leaves at 2:15 and we'll be back in Norfolk at 4:30. :sad2: I'm happy again that it's nonstop and we'll be back on the ground before dark. I'm planning to spend the night at Dbf's brother's house, then packing myself up the next morning, driving the 4 hours back to our apt (Dbf is staying in VA with his family again for Christmas..that and Thanksgiving are two holidays we've never spent together), picking up Riley from boarding and then driving to my house for Christmas break. Unfortunately, I have to defend my proposal (not my thesis, but my proposal for my thesis) between Christmas and New Years, so I'll probably be back and forth.
But..that's it! 7 days left, I'm sure things will change, especially until we figure out Ann's schedule. But I looked at the weather (of course it will change), but we already have 3 days of 77, 75 and 74, mostly sunny, 10% of rain. AND I packed some of my clothes last night :woohoo:

Oy! I ordered my Vera Hipster for my trip on Dec 1st on ebay and my payment cleared on the 3rd. I assumed it was a 2-3 day ship timeframe, but the ebay seller just shipped it today on the 8th!! Ah! We're leaving on friday the 12th to go to Dbf's house for his sister's graduation, anyone know how long Parcel Post takes? It's going from Missouri to Maryland, I think typically it's like 3-5 days, hopefully I'll get my bag in time! :confused3

UPDATE!
Scratch that...bag was shipped on the 6th via 1st class mail..I should definitely get it then right? Thank god, I was going to cry if I didn't get to use my new/1st Hipster on our trip!

Oh! That will so sad if you don't get it! I am going to pray to the postal gods that you do!!

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I don't know how I missed your last two updates!! :sad2:

Please, please, please try Soarin' at least once. I hate anything scary or dangerous and I absolutely adore Soarin'. I think it was the best ride on our last trip. Seriously, try it. LL says so. ;)

:rotfl2: Thank you for your Vera hipster support LL! I think I should be ok now, but I'll still keep my fingers crossed! I will DEFINITELY let you all know if I get it in time :thumbsup2

OK, I'll admit that I am glad that julezdisney said she thought that Ozzy and Aerosmith was her way of thinking too! :rotfl: Should I feel better? :)
When we did the ME, we packed up in the morning and left our bags at the desk and they took care of them from there and we didn't see them again until we got to BWI. Seems like we did have to be on the ME about 2-3 hours before the flight, sort of a pain.
I am with LL, yes do try Soarin! It is my favorite ride! If you go on Youtube you can see what it will be like... sort of. If you don't like heights ask to sit in row 3, it ends up being the lowest. It is the coolest ride! If you are feeling daring go for the row 1 middle section (highest). You can request being in certain rows but you might have to wait for the next ride.
Hey, remember also that when you get fastpasses and it gives you an hour time frame to do the ride, you can actually go anytime after the window of time opens up. We found this out the last time we were there and it was great! No rushing and panicking about missing the window.
Can you take a picture of the Boardwalk when you go for lunch at Beaches and Cream? :flower3:

Yes, you should feel better! :thumbsup2
Thanks for the info about ME. We've always driven to the airport via car (when ME wasn't in existance) and always got lost, so it is a pain, but at least we know we'll get there on time. And I do LOVE the orlando airport, since the giftshops are practically all Disney/SeaWorld, you can continue to finish your shopping! And I do remember they have a Chili's To Go, my mom and I have usually stopped there for lunch before we left.
I'll have to think about Soarin', I'm just afraid that I'll get freaked out and won't be able to get off. We'll see, I'll let you know after I come back! :goodvibes
And I will definitely take a pic for you! I'm sure I'll take lots, I've never been to most of the resorts (aside from Poly and GF just last year and staying at Music, Sports this year and CBR), so new visit will equal lots of pics! :thumbsup2

You should check it out on YouTube. It's a seriously wonderful ride and we were in the back row or the third row and it's really not as high as the others. :goodvibes

I checked it out on youtube with Dbf. The only parts that really bother me are coming over things like the mountain or the river and it feels like you're swinging out and up, like a ferris wheel. Like I said, I'll see if I can try it out.
On a side note, after watching Soarin, Dbf and I got sucked into watching all our favorite rides again (we did this last year before we left). So, we just took an hour and watched Pirates, TTA, Splash, BTMR, and Space Mountain. Oh boy I can't wait!! :wizard:

That sounds like a lot of fun, maybe Marc & I can do this sometime this week. Soarin is just great, I don't think you'd regret trying it. Me on the other hand, No thank you to Splash, Big Thunder and Space Mountain. I've done them all before and they are just not my cup of tea.

i love it that you watched the rides on you tube! That sounds like so much fun. I'm going to have to remember to do that in a couple months when I am having serious Disney withdrawal!

Your trip is SO close!!!
