Hi everyone,
My family is going to Disney at the end of the month and we have a 3 and 4 year old. My daughter is just over 3 and Im wondering if anyone has tried to get a 3 yr old in for free, or should we just suck it up and buy her a ticket? My husband and I and our 4 yr old already have our tickets- 6 day park hoppers. I am just going back and forth over our 3 yr old. I dont want a hassle everytime we go into a different park. Are they strict with the policy? Any info would be great. Thanks!

Not a good question for a first post. Put your flame shield up. This always turns into a how honest are you question?

The only thing I say is that, it seems to me, Disney keeps records (with computers it is so easy) and you may be "stuck" with this. It may affect her ability to go on pirate cruises and tours and other things that are age limited.

well, not to be rude but...if you have to ask you already know the answer. Rules are rules.

ooooooook sorry! i know not a great 1st post- but i did see on one website that kids ages 3 and under are free. then i looked on disney tickets and it says 3-9 need a ticket. so i figured i would at least ask. im not trying to cheat anyone- my cousin actually took her family last year and her daughter was 3 1/2 and she didnt get her a ticket and she said they never asked. but..im nervous - karma! so i thought if it was 3 and under or whatever i would at least ask. save a couple of hundred bucks.

this is what i saw on a website

"Free admission to children ages 3 and under."

Prices do not include tax and are subject to change. Tickets are non-transferrable.

If something says "Ages 3 and under" that would imply to me that your daughter does not need a ticket. If it said "under 3" then I would think the
3rd birthday is the cut off date.

People might hate me for this but I wouldn't get her a ticket.

So, What is the policy? 3 and under? or under 3? There is a big difference there.

What age do they count you as "3"?? Are you over 3 (and required to buy a ticket) they day after your bday....or are you "3" upto the day before you turn 4.

To me, I would take their statment as meaning all children that haven't turned 4 yet are free. So you have 3 yrs and 364 days to be free.

I agree...based on what the OP posted "Free admission to children ages 3 and under." I would say the 3 year old does NOT need a ticket.

Once you hit your 3rd birthday a ticket is required..

We checked in on dd's 3rd birthday and bought her a ticket.

According to WDW a 3 year old needs a ticket, children 2 and under are admitted free.

From WDW.com:
"Tickets are sold as "Guest 10+" for adult tickets or "Guest 3-9" for a child. Anyone under age three is free."

What website did you see this on? Was it an official Disney website? If not, I would not take it as authority on what Disney requires. It sounds like this may be a ticket brokers website that has a mistake on it.

Just because a web-site posts something doesn't make it true. WDW states the child ticket is for ages 3-9. Not rocket science.

I tried to post a link to where I saw it...it wasnt on Disney- it was on goflorida.about.com
It was just a question.

Goodness no reason for such anger here! The goflorida website obviously has mistaken info on it, and the OP had a question about the policy.

A previous poster, tjmw2727, definitively answered the question by posting the quote from the wdw website.

For those of you who sent me pm's...I dont think I can write back, it says my post count is too low- but thank you!

Goodness! Do you always have such anger issues? And, bypassing the filter is against the rules, you know.

I never knew that typing those types of charachters were "bypassing" a language filter....

If I type a word such as silly out a s i l l y I would think would be considered bypassing a language filter. Not a bunch of exlamation points, pound signs and such. Sorry if I offended anyone....but don't worry, I'll be a good boy now that I've learned about this "rule".
