Hi there, let me start by saying I'm not really sure what to write here. I've been lurking in this area for a few days reading through PTRs. I'm not much of a writer but I will do my best as these do seem to be helpful. I'm a huge planner, in fact my day job is to plan projects. It is my comfort zone. As you can imagine then, I have begun planning my family's next trip to Disney. :goodvibes Actually, I don't know that I'm technically correct by saying I've just begun planning. In reality, the planning began almost as soon as we got back home from our 1st trip last May. Almost immediately I started a spreadsheet for items not to forget to pack next time & a to-do list for things we want to do again. Those lists have only grown over the months, & I expect will continue to do so.

First some background. I'm Cyn (41), DH Marc (41), & DS Nico (9) makes up our family. Both DH & I have been to WDW before as kids, but last year's trip was the 1st time in probably 25 yrs for us & the 1st ever for my DS. Both of them are Star Wars nuts, so we went for SWW & just had a blast. So much so, here we are almost a year later & we're still talking about that trip. We never really took vacations before for various reasons. We'd normally just do day trips in our area. My husband said to me just this week that he didn't realize how much he liked going on vacations until we went on the WDW trip last year, & now how much he wants to go back because we had so much fun. I couldn't agree more.

So almost immediately we began planning & saving. Trying to figure out how we could get back & when. After a bunch of strategizing, we've decided we are going to try for 2 trips next year. A short trip for SWW & a longer trip for Christmas. So far, so good. This time around we thought it might be nice to bring some family. For the May trip we'll be bringing my cousin Nicole (43), who I will refer to in this PTR as DC. She is my son's godmother & a big kid at heart. She's not a Disney person, I don't think she's ever been. When we asked her though, she said she really wanted to go to be able to experience it with my son. She probably wouldn't ever go otherwise. That being said, I'm looking for ideas to get her excited about the trip & want to go for her too, not just for my son. If anyone has suggestions, let me know!

The December trip is another story. We're actively recruiting my sister Deb (54), who I'll refer to as DSis here. She hasn't committed yet. She's totally afraid of flying. You know, terrorists & all. I've given her the statistics about flying vs driving. I've given the rationale behind domestic vs international flights. I've even done the guilt trip of this probably will be his last 'kid' trip before DS turns into a teenager & doesn't want to be with us. She's still very nervous about it, so she's a work in progress. She's closer to agreeing than before, but still on the fence. She's also very close to my son & therefore really wants to go for that reason.
