Hi everyone!

This is my first dining review, but let me apoligze in advance that at most of our meals I forgot to take pictures. But I did get a few so I thought I'd share them with you guys.

I'll rate the items on a 1 to 5 scale (with 5 being the best).

Here's a little info about me:

I've been to Disney World several times, but this is my first trip in which I'm atempting to take food pictures. My camera is not the best but I decided to give it a shot anyway, and like I said earlier I forgot to take pictures during most of our outtings.

I'm not terribly hard to please, when it comes to food I'll eat just about anything as long as it doesn't have a cream sauce or mushrooms. However, I did travel with 5 other people so we tried to find places where everyone could enjoy themselves.

Hope you enjoy!

Our first stop was 1900 Park Fare

I thought the food was subpar, but the experience and interaction with Cinderella and the gang made up for it.

I ended up hitting a button on my camera and deleting most of my pictures from this dinner, but I do still have a couple of the slipper dessert my sister and her family ordered for me (for my birthday!) It was very sweet of them to order it for me, I thought it was so pretty and tasty to boot. My sister didn't care for the white chocolate mouse, but loved the chocolate. I liked them both.

I give the whole experience a 4/5, but the food is not that great so it gets a 3/5.

At Epcot we stopped at Nine Dargons at least that's what my receipt said (counter service since the restaurant is closed) for a quick lunch.

Orange Chicken, rice, egg rolls.

For a counter service, this meal was cheap and satisfying (we shared between 3 people). So I give it a 4/5

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At MK my sister got a bucket of popcorn so I took a picture of it, it was good but I'm not a big popcorn fan (she enjoyed it though).

So 5/5 if you are a popcorn lover.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On to Goofy's Candy Store, to make our own pretzels!

Pretzels dipped in white chocolate, one with oreos, one with butterfingers, and one with reese's cups, all drizzled with white chocolate.

Pretzels dipped one each in white, dark, and milk chocolate. One covered in peanuts, one in oreos, one in reese's cups. All covered with carmel.

Overall, 5/5 for the experience and the end product. This are great you just can't keep them forever, but really treats like this don't tend to stick around for to long anyway!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the Boardwalk we go! Just in time to try the Banana Split Cake for brunch.

I really liked this, because it wasn't to sweet. It almost tasted like a breakfast pastry, with a banana bread crust and a light banana cream mousse. I give it a 5/5 if you are looking for a treat that is rich without being sickeningly sweet.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next was Chef Mickey's...

Here's my plate, and what I can remember of it.

Mac and cheese, english peas, chicken tenders (breaded and steamed), cranberry stuffing, broccoli, mickey ravioli, corn muffin.

HPIM1210-1.jpg

Roast pork, mashed potatoes w/gravy, stuffing w/gravy, mojo lime BBQ chicken (you can't really see it great but it's behind the pork), and a bowl of BBQ sauce.

HPIM1224-1.jpg

My dessert plate included, mini cheesecake, key lime tart, mickey oreo mousse, candied mints.

HPIM1229-1.jpg

Oh yeah, and a mickey cupcake for my birthday!

Overall, I took the most pictures here, it was the night before we left so I was trying to get as much 'Disney' as I could before it was back to the real world. I give Chef Mickey's a 4/5 for the food and a 5/5 for the atmosphere and character interaction (they come around more frequently than at the Cinderella diner).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One last treat before we go, at the Beach Club Marketplace

Gelato! (Flavors left to right): Mint oreo cookie, lemon, dutch chocolate, mango, toasted almond, raspberry

HPIM1162-1.jpg

A small cup of toasted almond...

HPIM1160-1.jpg

A small cup of raspberry...

This treat was perfect on a hot day in July, so it gets a 5/5. I tested all the flavors (except chocolate) and they were all great.

Well, there's my dining review, hope you enjoyed! I wish I would have remembered to take more pictures, but you live and learn right? I'll just have to make sure I go back to Disney so I get some new food pictures. ;)

Nice review!!! Its making me so excited for our trip this month!!! :cool1:

great reviews and thanks for taking the time to do this......

We are sooooooooo going to have to go to Goofy's and make pretzels. I love chocolate covered pretzels. Is it true they are only around $3.50 (per the DIS info page about it)? How big are the pretzel rods? (I'm guessing not very big if they are really only $3.50)

Great review..I want to try that banana split cake!! The gelato looks very good too!!

Thanks for sharing the pics! I can't wait to have my first gelato in November!

Thanks for sharing your review. I have been reading mixed reviews of 1900 Park Fare for dinner. I have it set up because I really want to see the step sisters and of course Cinderalla. And it was somewhere different to eat and a buffet that would be good for picky eaters. Do you recall what was at the kid's corner to eat? I read where there were changes to that.

Thanks.

Hoping for the best at Park Fare 1900 - I like to try different hotels and restaurants each trip so this is a new one for me.

For the pretzel rods, yeah they were $3.50 for a box of three. They are the normal size pretzel rods (like you can get in the grocery store). You can get each of your pretzels dipped in different kinds of chocolate, but you can only get one topping on each pretzel rod (was told they would not hold up to more candy like the rice crispy treats, cookies, etc.) though you can get as many different kinds of chocolate/carmel drizzles as you want.

As for 1900 Park Fare, for the kids it's the basics: Mac -n- cheese, pizza, corn, broccoli, chicken, etc. Kids and Adults are welcome to eat off of both the regular and kids tables, and the regular buffet also had things like chicken, stir fry, rice, mashed potatoes, etc. so maybe they're would enough variety for a child.

My niece filled up on pizza and mac -n- cheese, the only other thing she would touch was ice cream. If your kids are exceptionally picky or really excited about seeing the characters don't expect them to eat anywhere close to their money's worth.

Really It's more about the atmosphere than anything else, I'm glad I went to the dinner for the experience but I probably wouldn't do it again unless I was traveling with a little princess who just had to do it.

Enjoyed your reviews. We are going next month with DDP, so I think I may try and grab some food pics as well. We are taking the DS4 on his first trip so we have Mickey's Backyard B B Q, and 3 other character meals. Should be fun.

Thanks for taking the time to post. My last trip was the 1st one I tried to take pictures for; I think I remembered about 30% of the time. I aim to do much better when I return in a few weeks. :thumbsup2

we also found 1900 park fare sub par . I wound up eating off of the childrens section but the service and atmosphere was good . The crystal palace was a little better but not much . chef mickeys was the best character meal we went to and probably the only character meal I would have went to if I didn't have the DDP. the only meal all of us truly enjoyed was ohana's (dinner) not a character dinner but was awesome by far the best meal of the trip I reeeeeeeeeealy recommend that one . made all reservations for about 5:00 pm and went right in (good thing to do).

Great job! Those gelato pictures are looking tasty on a hot August day!

thanks for the photos - have had the toasted almond gelato and love it!!!
