MWY Dining we saved $300!

Me, DH DS(6) and DD(4) stayed at CSR during Easter Week. We used the dining plan and we loved it.
We used most of our Counter service meals at the Pepper Market, and one at ABC Commisary. For table service we ate at: Prime Time Cafe, Biergarten, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Faire, Maya Grill and Liberty Tree Tavern.
I dont think we used all of our counter service meals, and honestly, with all the desserts and appetizers it was almost too much food. We paid $540 for our family and our meals were totalled to about $850, so we definately saved money.
Also, if we ordered a drink which was not on the plan, the dining plan still paid the tip on it. A CM told me this was expected to change soon.

Glad it saved you some money!!! We booked it for our 8 night stay next month and I'm hoping to see similar savings. We are doing lots more character meals because of the plan.

We can't find a scenario where it doesn't save money. We're going in June, and have our PSs in place. Being the anal rentitive person that I am, I laid out a spreadsheet and estimated the cost of each of the meals, based on the menu prices on Allears. I ran conservative (don't eat much) and aggressive (eat the house down) scenarios. The worst we did was a $157 savings (including the 15% tip). The best was a $327 Savings. This is for a 6N/7D trip for 4 persons, all over 12 years old. So the MYW dining gave of 24 each of Sit downs, counter, and snacks.

I love the freedom of just ordering whatever you want without thinking about how much it costs. Will likely get us to try some new things and I'll feel good about that $30 steak. YUM YUM.

I hope WDW continues with DDE. We plan to buy one next year, 2006, when our plans finalize

I am glad the dining plan work to your advantage. We have it for June and I have PS for Whispering Canyon,Chef Mickeys,Crystal Palace and Concourse. We are looking forward to it and saving money too. I know we estimate $100 a day for food and thus far the dining plan would be saving us money. We will see at the end how we did.
