First time cruiser, am I crazy, does this sound like too much (both mid 50's) or doable? Doing the 4 day Bahama cruise, driving down (9 hours) the day before(sun), hoping to make myself to not try everything(Mon - Fri). Spending next two nights in Orlando. Thinking of doing MVMCP on the night we get back to port(Fri), is this a smart idea or overdoing in? Sleeping in and wondering around downtown Disney (Sat). With dreaded drive home(9 hours, Sun). Open to all thoughts, plus any other ideas. This is our 25th Anniversary and trying to make it special without breaking the bank.

We're doing the MVMCP the night BEFORE our cruise, but many in our cruise group are doing it the night we return. I don't think it's crazy at all. The party ticket is cheaper than a one-day ticket and you get to see/do special stuff. You'll be back in Orlando by around 10:00 a.m., so that's plenty of time to rest up for the party.

Assume you know this, but just in case, you can get into MK at 4:00 with your party ticket, so be sure to get there in time and ENJOY!

We just did this on Friday! Got off the Dream that morning and went to the Halloween party that night. We did it with 3 kids (10, 9 and 3) and thought it worked out great! We got to our hotel around 9:30 and luckily they had our 2 rooms ready for us. We swam in the pool and then ate lunch at Disney Springs. After lunch we napped until 3ish and got to MK a little after 4. We were able to make it to midnight which was a shock to us since our kids go to be really early normally. Yes we were exhausted but we thought it was well worth it. We were able to make 2 fast passes (no fast passes after 7 on party nights) so we rode those 2 rides and then ate dinner while the weather cooled down and the crowds thinned out. After 7 the longest line we waited in was about 20 minutes for Seven Dwarfs. Everything else we were able to walk right on.

We did MVMCP in November the night we disembarked from a 4 night cruise. We took DCL bus and didn't get to our resort until after noon. Checked in, ate lunch, had kids take a quick nap then got to MK right around 4 for the party. We were tired but it was definitely doable.
It was a bit of a culture shock though. After 4 relaxed days on the boat, the party seemed so crowded and it felt a little rushed to get from one event to the other. Without kids, you might skip the stage shows though so that would calm things down quite a bit. And it was painful to drop so much money on so little food after having everything included on the boat. We still had a great time, but if I had to choose again next time I would do the party before the cruise.

Should be easily doable. We were also on the 4 night Dream last week. We flew in late Friday night. We did Blizzard Beach and Disney Springs Saturday. Sunday we did Chef Mickeys breakfast and then MNSSHP. We got to the turnstiles about 3:30 and they let us in at 3:45. We then slept in a little and drove down to the port Monday morning and got onboard around noon. On disembarkation day we drove over to Vero Beach and were checked in and on the beach by about 10:30. We flew back yesterday. It was a fantastic trip and very doable. I have a 10 and 4 year old and 62 year old mom that travels with my DH and I.
