Can anyone tell me how crowded the parks get during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? Is it worth doing? We are all adults....

thanks,
Dee

It will be anything from moderate crowds to PACKED. I think everyone should do it once and decide for themselves. For ME, it is no longer worth it--just too crowded for the price. (I don't have children.) IF you really like characters it may very well be worth it for you!

We had a great time the last time we went! as far as crowds go....seems to get more and more crowded every year! you just have to go in and have fun! I totally think it's worth it!

We went a couple years ago and enjoyed it so much! So much that I don't even remember if it was very crowded. I say go for it.

When are you planning on going??? And what are you planning to do???

Not all MVMCP are the same depending on day of the week, early November Vs. mid-December.

As somebody reported in another thread, while the park was packed, most of the rides were walk on. Seemed people were more interested in the shows and characters that night.

Yea I am a little worried about the MVMCP coming up after people reported that crowds were increased (perhaps because disney is increasing the number of tickets for sale). I don't want it to be packed, what's the point of limited distribution hard ticket event if it isn't really limited ???

Hoping its going to be great though, highly doubt we will ever get to go at this time of year again, its a fluke its happening this year.

Most people who go to the parties go for the stage shows, exclusive characters, parade and special version of Wishes, rather than rides they can do during regular park hours.

We got tickets for a day of our trip, can't go at Christmas and not go to the Christmas party! My kids are little, 5 & 3, and I'm worried they'll be exhausted by the time anything fun is happening.

We went to a sold-out party last Dec (mid'ish Dec), and I would say the crowds were moderate to heavy. BUT the crowds were really just bad in the hub and in the character lines. The rides were pretty much walk-on, other than SDMT...I remember that clearly still had a long line all night (about 40-50 mins). We used the party to meet special characters, watch shows, the Christmas parade and Wishes. We were not there to ride the rides. We did one or two. That seemed to be the case for most people cause we were always with the crowd!

My boys were 5 & 3 last year when we did it. We just did not go to a park that day. We had a 'resort' day...which meant going to another resort for part of the day and then back to ours for some downtime before entering MK at 4pm. It worked well. My then 3yo was still taking a solid 2-3 hour nap so he would have been a bear had we been at a park earlier in the day.

Oh I miss naps... lol!

Agreed. Since we do not know what the OP's intention/expectations are, or what they consider is worth doing, I am just letting them know if they chose to ride rides (and many do) it may not be so bad.

Loved it! We watched the first parade from Frontierland and then headed to Splash Mountain. We were able to walk on with no wait and then rode it twice without getting off. Then we went to Thunder Mountain, also with no wait, rode it three times, and only got off because we wanted to. Space Mountain had about a 5-10 minute wait. Main Street was very very busy, but once you get in line or the rides, it wasn't bad at all. Hoping for something similar at the Halloween party this year.

We're doing MVMC for the first time this year on Dec 18th. Very much looking forward to it even though I know it will be mad busy.
