Our first park day is a MVMCP night and I'm trying to decide if we should get tickets for it or not. This is our first family trip to Disney and since it will be our first park day I don't want to cut it short but then again I don't know if we will stay very long if we bought the tickets. We have 3 kids 5 and under and they usually go to sleep around 7:30. But since we are at Disney I know that bed time will just go out the window.

I'm sure the kids would love it, but is it worth it? What kind of things do they do at the party that we wouldn't get to see normally.

I prefer the Halloween Party to the Christmas party. Why don't you do a different park that day? Hollywood Studios has the Lights which I actually enjoyed more than the party. And the EPCOT stories of Christmas around the world is fun.

We arrive November 9. We're going to EPCOT for F&W on the 10th (last day), and MK on the 11th for a full day....we hope. 2 1/2 year old twins may not make it. We decided to do the MVMCP on the 14th, but will skip the parks in the morning and afternoon, and get the boys a nice nap.

I've never done the MVMCP, but have done the MNSSH numerous times. I can't do a whole day there, and the parties. I'm worn out myself!

I guess the whole day there would be a bit much. I'll have to see what the hubby thinks. Thanks :)

If you don't think the kids will make it till 10pm or so don't bother. It's a lot of money to spend for just an hour or so of them being awake. Save it for another year. They'll be wiped out just from 9a-7p in MK.

I wouldn't do it for a first time trip. There is so much to see and do that you really don't need to spend the extra money.

I might be the only one who's on the other side of the fence. I have little ones as well and we've always committed to leaving after the parade to go back for naptime we usually head back to the parks around six or seven and the kids are awesome and rejuvenated! So I say if it's something you really want to do, it can be done! Some of our best memories are from the second half of the day. Plus something about when that sun goes down and it's not as hot makes it that much more enjoyable.

We are going with our two and a 1/2 year old twins is December and I've been pondering the same thing. Last year we did mnsshp when they were 15 months and it was not really worth it, though I liked seeing all the great costumes and it was fun letting them run around dresses up (Lilo and stitch). This year may be different though, esp if we go back for a nap. I could only get dinner reservations to be our guest on a Christmas party night, so we will definitely be there that day.... I may wait until closer to decide. Let me know how it goes for you though!

Kenny the Pirate's site has a great event rundown. If you can let your kiddos nap then I think it's totally worth it (& what we're doing)!

My then 2 yo now 3 yo does NOT nap or sit in a stroller and yet at Disney took 1-2 daily stroller naps AND still napped in the room every afternoon. It's a lot of sensory overload and excitement. Rest makes the fun run smooth!

Personally for us MVMCP is part of the reason we opted to go at this time of year. We are taking MVMCP (our 5th day) as an off day. We will spend the day relaxing, maybe go to DTD or mini-golf, or spend time in the pool if the weather is nice. Making sure that DS (1) gets a nap in the afternoon. But being your first trip, there is so much to see and do. Either way, you will have a great time.

This is how we usually do the special nights, the tickets let you in at 4pm so we do not want to waste a day off our park tickets, when we can get into the park at 4.

Maybe you can spend the earlier part of the day looking at some of the resort decorations, or enjoying activities at your hotel/resort and resting up so that everyone is fresh and ready for the party that evening.
