MVMCP - Why no 12/1 discount??

I was just about to purchase tickets for MVMCP on Disneyworld.com for December 1st, but for some reason that day doesn't show a discount for ordering in advance. Any idea why that is?? It's a Friday, it also looks like the following Friday 12/8 isn't discounted. Are Friday's not subject to the discount for ordering early?

From the list of discounted dates listed on Deb's it looks like they have cut back considerably on the discount dates offered..and 12/1 is not a discounted date.

I've read that they don't discount days that are guaranteed to sell out anyway. Weekends are said to be big with the locals.

Last year they started this new policy:

Fridays for MVMCP are not discounted at all and for MNSSHP it's Halloween night and the last couple of parties are also not discounted at all. They are pretty much guaranteed sell outs so Disney's decided to make money on that fact.

Dang, we had decided to go on the 1st since it's our first day there. On sell out days does it get super crowded? Or is it manageable crowds? Our other choice would be Monday 12/4, since we leave on the 5th.

I just looked at the Disney World website and don't see where these tickets are yet available online. Is there somewhere else I should look?? I see the original poster mentions buying them online.

HERE is where they'd be but for some reason they took them away (I saw them there yesterday).

Thanks! That is where I looked and I know I had looked there once before and not seen them yet. I will keep checking!

We purchased tickets for 12/22/06 the last day for the party and the lady said that this date was not discounted so we had to pay the full price for the tickets. I don't care we are getting to go, I was so afraid we would have to misss it as this is the date we arrive in Orlando.

We are doing the same thing! We arrive on the first and depart on the 5th. I just ordered tickets for the 4th! Did not want to fight the weekend crowds!

I had originally thought to go on the 4th as well, but my sister and I thought that it might be better to go our first day there, kick off the weekend with the party. Now I'm second guessing. I know she's ready to kill me between worrying about getting the trip booked with the TA and now the party. I'll wait until tomorrow to talk to her about switching back to the 4th.

loveDmouse, I had to do some searching. What I did was click on Tickets and Reservations and then put in the date and searched for regular tickets. Once I got there I added any ticket to the cart and emptied the cart (I know this seems crazy but trust me, it worked LOL) and then it said my cart was empty and asked what I wanted and one of the choices was special occassions (or something along those lines) and when I clicked on that I saw Night of Joy, MNSSHP and MVMCP. The things we do to get tickets, huh?

I would rather just order it online.
