MVMCP vs MK during Christmas Week

Due to DD's school schedule, we are planning to check into the CR on 12/21. I know the official dates haven't been released yet, but based on past years, I realize that we may be arriving too late in the season to attend MVMCP. If that is the case, I will be disappointed, but I'd like to focus on what we WILL be able to see without attending MVMCP.

Is the daytime parade performed during Christmas Week the same as the MVMCP parade? Will there be "snow" at MK (or any other park) any time other than during MVMCP? Is Mickey's Night Before Christmas performed, or is that exclusive to MVMCP?

Last year my girls & I attended the last MVMCP. . .I'm very glad that we did as I've always wanted to be there for that special event. However, we were at WDW from Dec 20 to 27 & the Christmas parade & other Christmas themed shows were going on outside of the party. MVMCP has the free cocoa & cookies which are nice. They offer a free photo but the line was always so long that we didn't do it. There is special merchandise that you can only purchase at the Party. The snow is restricted to main street at MK. I understood that it was only for MVMCP but we ate a late dinner in the castle on Dec 23 & when leaving MK the snow was falling so magically down on Main Street. There were few people on Main Street & everyone was dancing & trying to catch the snow flakes. There is also "snow" at the Osborne Lights at MGM. Don't forget the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. We also went to Wilderness Lodge & did a sleigh ride. . .it was so much fun! We stayed at the Beach Club & signed up for the girls to decorate gingerbread houses.

Thank you, Lady SnowElla! You've really set my mind at ease. I have always wanted to attend MVMCP, but mostly for the parades and shows. It's great that we should have a chance to catch them even if we arrive after the last date of MVMCP.

I forgot to ask about Holiday Wishes, though. Do you think they'll show them on any nights other than MVMCP?

Last year we ate dinner at LTT for Christmas Eve & saw the Holiday Wishes. It was so cool with snowflake lights reflecting off the castle. I'm sure that they did them on Christmas night. We went to Epcot on Christmas & saw John Stamos narrate the Candlelight Processional. We had reservations at Japan & the food was fantastic. As we were walking out the Holiday Illuminations started. It was really moving!
