MVMCP viewing tips

We are headed down in a couple of days and have tickets for MVMCP. Does anyone have any viewing tips for the parades and show. We are taking a day off from the parks that day but will probably see the first parade. Our kids are usually done by 10:00 the latest.

I was wondering if you should find a spot near Frontierland or closer to the end the parade near entrance to MK. I am not too worried about being directly on Main Street. After the parade we will probably walk through the shops and go on some more rides.

I have heard that if you want to take photos, you need to be on main street... very dark in Frontierland (plus you get a more "festive" view with decorations and the castle. Also, for the first parade and Main Street, you will need to arrive plenty early for a curb-side seat.
