my husband really wants to go this year with our son (5) but i'm thinking it might be too late for our daughter who will be 14 mos at that time...we are staying at WL so maybe i can take her back when she gets tired. has anyone done the mvmcp with toddlers?

My youngest will be 26 months when we go in Dec. and we are going to do the MVMCP. She is usually "out" by 8pm, so what I'm planning on doing is making sure she gets a good nap during the day (we are doing the party on a non-park day-just a stroll in Downtown Disney maybe) and hopefully we can stay until 10? at the MK. I know she's still a year older than your DD, but she gets irritable when tired (my other DD is 4 yrs old). I figure it's only one night and if she's too tired she can sleep in the stroller.... Good luck with your decision!

I think it just depends on your little one. We have a little night owl on our hands. He never goes to bed before 10pm and can last much later if he's had a good nap. (He's 18 months old.) He's pretty good natured and happy - even late at night. When we were there in May (he was 12 months old then) we did the evening Extra Magic Hours at Epcot and he closed down the park at midnight - smiling and having a grand time. Of course, we slept late the next day. We are doing the Christmas party on our December trip, and I don't think he will have any problems with it. We're planning on just hanging out at the WL and relaxing that day, hitting the party that night, and sleeping late the next morning. If he does get sleepy during the party, he's generally really good about just kicking back in the stroller and going to sleep. I can't wait!

My son was 16 months when we did MVMCP last December and he loved it. We had a great time, he was happy as can be. We just rested at the hotel most of the day and let him take an extra long nap and he was ready to go. Go, have fun and enjoy.

thanks guys for your input:D my daughter is good natured too and might go all night if we let her. it's the next day that i'm worried about:eek: but we will sleep in late. i guess i'll go
head and buy our tickets!!!!:Pinkbounc

Our daughter was 14 months old last year when we did MNSSHP and she did great!!! She loved the special Halloween parade that night!!! We did have her picture taken with her brother in their Halloween costumes and after the pictures we changed her into her p.j.'s. She fell asleep in her stroller around 9 p.m. so we stayed awhile longer and we wheeled her on the monorail and once we got off at the Grand Floridan we were able to put her to bed in a crib that we rented and she stayed asleep until the next morning!!!:wave2:

My DS went at 12 mos, 24 mos and will be going again this year at 36 mos. He has a great time. We have made it until about 11pm each year.

We go to AK for 1/2 day and then head back for a long afternoon nap before hitting the party. Our last activity at AK is the Boneyard so he can get good and tired :D

We took our 15-month old to MNSSHP and he did fine. We just had an easy morning, breakfast at Chef Mickey's, then back to the resort to swim and a good nap before our dinner at LTT and the party.

WE are taking our 11-month granddaughter in December. She is the world's best-natured baby. If she goes to sleep so be it. We hope she's awake until the park shuts down!

We took our son this October... he just turned one year old and he did great... we wore him out at the swimming pool during the afternoon and he took a nice long nap before we left for the MK... we stayed until about 10pm and he had a blast. He is usually in bed by 7pm, so it was by far the latest he ever stayed up and he didn't miss a beat.

I think I'm in the minority here because I wouldn't take my toddler to the MVMCP or any other late night party. I know that I am super strict with schedules and routines... But I'm surprised to see that I am the only one who would miss this party!

Am I really the only one?

We are very good about keeping a routine for our 13 month old and I think thats why he did so well at MNSSHP... it was a one-time thing and then we were back to our routine without a problem.

He normally goes to bed at 7pm and sleeps all the way thru to 8am. Staying out to 10pm for MNSSHP didn't seem to affect him at all... he was back on his schedule the next night without missing a beat.

I guess it all comes to down to an individual choice and what your child does best with... no right or wrong answer.
